Forums - Nintendo - Your first playthrough of StarFox Zero should take you about 3h to 3h30 to complete & more

From what I've gathered, Star Fox Zero also has differing paths, unlockable missions, dual co-op, and upgradeable weapons in addition to a variety of vehicles.

The greater freedom of movement for starters. Yes UC is a longer game but SF0 has a greater degree of freedom from what can be seen.

Fine about more vehicles, but the freedom of movement is still confined to the on-rails nature of it, right?

If SF0 is anything like SF64, no. SF64 had all-range mode sequences in it where you were free to fly about a map.

Again, I don't mind an arcade game lasting three hours if it has good replay value. But, to be fair, it could really last much more. There's no reason it couldn't, especially not at that price.

The $60 price tag is both SF0 and SF Guard. Not sure what the price for SF0 alone will be.

I paid 40€ in Amazon for a standalone SF0. With Guard, 50€. Not sure about America though.

40€ is about $45 here in the states. Might go for the standalone and pick up a Star Fox Amiibo with the $15.

Three hours? Lol. $60 for such a tiny game is way too much.

Thre game is 50$ (40$ on Europe) and it says it takes you more than 10 hours to unlock every stage. Star Fox is an arcade game made to be played tons of times, more than 10 hours is a really good lenght for the genre.

But since it's a Nintendo made game no one should say anything bad about it. How dare people question Nintendo. Wake up dude.

What planet are you living on? People criticize Nintendo all the time, this thread is full of people giving them flak for their amiibo shenanigans. Stop acting like criticizing Nintendo makes you some kind of special snowflake.

3.5 hours and people are fine with this? @0@

Starfox SNES and 64 had a similar amount of content and I loved those.

And before someone asks why I don't hold a game in 2016 to a higher standard than a game from the 90s; because games today are generally worse than they were in the 90s.

I love you curl :) I wish more people thought this way.

@OP: the length is fine. Have the people dumping on it never played a rail shooter? They're not exactly known for 40-hour campaigns.

The Amiibo shenanigans, however, are detestable. If the Falco Amiibo is truly the only way to unlock hard mode, then fans have every right to rage. It's such a shame that Nintendo, once a bulwark against anti-consumer DLC practices, has become one of the industry's most prominent offenders.

While that sounds really good and I didn't know about it, don't you think they could have stretched out the total time a bit more? Umbrella Chronicles definitively doesn't have all-range, but it still features a higher total playtime.

UFFFFF How I hate this threads full of people shitting about something they have no fucking clue about. People shitting about the lenght when they dont have a clue about what this franchise is about, then people shitting about the amiibo when it hasnt been confirmed that the hard mode is only locked behind it or also locked until you get all the medals like in sf64 and now people complaining about the price when they dont even know this is not a full priced release. Is very annoying.

60$ is the pack with Star Fox Zero + Star Fox Guard, the standalone game is 40$ here on Europe and around 50$ on Usa.

Actually, three hours feels a bit too long for one sitting in my case.

SF64 is all about chasing the next highest score meaning you'll be replaying the game practicing and optimizing every time, each time making use of different routes and such. That'll consume quite a bit of time, believe me.
