Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is it pretty much assured Twilight Princess will always be second place to Ocarina Of Time in terms of total sales now?

If they don't make further remakes then most likely

I'm not sure if I can say yes confidently, considering Nintendo's recent track record of remaking all these Zelda games.

Who knows, they might end up releasing Skyward Sword on their next portable or something.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

That's cool, the best game isn't always the one that sales more .

TP GC plus Wii outsold OoT on 64...

Overall though, if we include every game, OOT will have sold the most. OOT N64 also outsold TP on either system individually.

Well you see, here is the problem with your way of thinking on this.  The Wii/GC was a simultaneous release, so adding them against Zelda 64 is justified.  However you cannot include the remakes in this equation due to console install base.

The amount of potential buyers for the 3DS is a lot higher than that of the WiiU, so it is a no brainer which will sell more.  Your logic for this comparison is very flawed to say the least.

With that logic you should take in count the install base of both games in its original release.

As it should be, since Ocarina of Time is the much better game.

This

Honestly Ocarina Of Time deserves to be best selling Zelda game, is widely considered like best game ever and its was almost perfect game when was released, while Twilight Princes definitely has flaws.

Exactly. I'm taking out all the ands ifs and buts, and just looking at which game has sold more overall. His argument also neglects the fact that the Gamecube and Wii version of the game was offered to a lot more people than the N64 version, and overall (Gamecube, Wii, Wii U) Twilight Princess was on systems that sold more than the combined sales of N64 and 3DS.

The odds were against OoT, and it still sold the most.

Fair enough, TP is still fantastic.  =P

The more interesting tale is how will Zelda U/NX compare against OoT64/Wii and TP Wii/GC
