Forums - Microsoft - Bold Prediction: The Xbox One will be replaced simultaneously with the Wii U

Launch of the 4th Xbox console?

2016 3 6.25%

2017 6 12.50%

2018 15 31.25%

2019 15 31.25%

never 9 18.75%

Total:48

No chance.
Xbox One still has a very good and healthy support unlike the Wii U.

Honestly Nintendo and Mc need more than just a "new console" to compete with Sony. They need games. Sexy, sexy, non-Mario and non-FPS games.

Dude, best games lineup both 2015 and 2016 bra. No one cares about pre season!

I love good satire.

I suspect you're about as serious here as in your April 1 topic, but I'll give my thoughts anyway.

Xbox gamers are not reliant on first party titles to the same degree as Nintendo gamers.
They're not getting everything PS4 is getting, but it still has plenty.
XBO has the hardware to run current gen games on acceptable levels. WiiU in some cases does not.
XBO is selling well. WiiU is not. (And that's an understatement.)

And WiiU doesn't have a 2017, unless you think people will be content with more Amiibo Festival tier games.
Xbox One will do fine in 2017.

Wii U of course will have a 2017. And here in Germany the Xbox One gets outsold by the Wii U. Just saying.

Microsoft has just announced that Gears of War 4 launches on October 11th. That's in 6 monthes! Xbox One owners have to wait 6 monthes for their next game. It appears to me that Microsoft has given up on the Xbox One. They are going to replace it ASAP. With the NX launching in 2017 I guess the chances are very high to also see the next Xbox in 2017. Another indicator is that Microsoft is bringing almost all of their games to PC because they don't sell well on the Xbox One. The Xbox One is not Microsoft's future.

Your thoughts?

Third.

Party.

Games.

When I read the headline, I read it as Nintendo teaming with xbox on a console to simultaneously replace WiiU and Xbox One. Nintendo/Xbox= NX

What I read was something much more far fetched.
