Forums - Gaming - How can anyone dissmiss the graphics of FF15? Not the devolopers but your Consoles are too weak for this game #Reality

I checked a few of the screens ruler posted, and they are 1080p; in the Platinum Demo, FFXV rarely hits 1080p, spending the vast majority of its time at 900p on PS4, and even lower at times. In Episode Duscae, it never hits 1080p at all, running at a locked 900p.

Are those upscaled images or were they directly captured footages ?

No clue, I just took a reading of the image's pixel count.

I think the game looks fine

so everyone rather complains about the framerate and AA than actually looking at the amazing graphics of this masterpiece called FF15. And there are some people who really say that Witcher 3 or this and that game looks better than FF15. Really?

How can any one dismiss the games graphics? They look absolutley amazing, the best graphics i have ever seen and unlike Uncharted 4 its an open world RPG with giant monsters and creatures not just some soldiers who look all the same.

Its not the devolopers fault that your consoles are too weak to handle FF15. Instead complaining and whining at Square Enix you rather should beg and pettion at Sony and MS to realse a stronger PS4 or Xbox One.

I dont know i am all for Console games remaining exclusives because thats how it used to be. But seeing all this hate from the pitchfork on forums makes me really want FF15 to come to PC to prove wrong the nay sayers, and Anti-PS4K-Advocates.

Are you seariously asking this?

It's well known that FF15 is made in an engine that is NOT next-gen compliant. This engine was last-gen and therefore is NOT optmized for next-gen.

Of course the game itself will be optmized and it looks fantastic as it is, but the bare in mind that The Witcher 3 was heavily optmized for next-gen and it has some serious fps and graphical issues. I doubt very much that FF15 will skip that and deliver some "totally perfect gameplay". No, it won't.

As much as I love FF, and I'll definitely get this one because I have gotten every single one of them, I dare say that this will NOT be that "super awesome game" that FFVIII of FFX was (at least for me).

And yes, PC version will be a lot better.

And no, this forum hate is not even close to being fare to the game.

They could if they would releave themselfs from the pressure to have the best visuals people waited 10 years for and being above 720p. A strnger PS4 could let the devolopers downgrade the game a bit for the normal PS4

Dude, really? An Alpha picture from Uncharted 4 in a low light scene? Also, stop saying FFXV is open world, it's not.

I think you really need to chill out. Others have shown you over and over again the holes in your argument and you just keep digging in. You're way too invested in FFXV...

its open world like wright proved you wrong, this vegetation part wont look any different in the final version of U4 i think

curl-6 said:Granted, it is possible the actual release will look/run better than the Platinum demo, but personally I am always skeptical of promo screens, as devs/publishers love to bullshit about how good their game looks.

the previous demo looked better and run better for the fact that you had 4 main characters rendered all the time

Having PLAYED the new FFXV Demo, i can 100% say that it doesnt look nowehere near the bullshots that you can find online of the game.

It looks good, but not great.

Having said that, im judging the graphics by the demo i played.

epsidoe duscae looks like that the screenshots, the summon from first video is reorded from the demo

I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

A good developer works with the tools it has at hand; a good developer can make a great game with circles and squares; a good developer that has ambitions will adapt them to the resources it has; if it has ideas that can't make it into a game (call it advanced graphics, gameplay ideas, level designs, whatever) the developer should be good enough to make priorities and also mature enough to realize you sometimes can't have everything you want in a game.

The developers of FF XV should have enough experience to look at the challenges of working with the PS4 and XBOX ONE to adapt accordingly and still make a great game; if you always asks for more, you will never be satisfied.

So crysis 1 runing and looking like crap on PS3 and XBox 360 was also the devolopers fault? FF15 is way more anbitious than any other previous game

We shouldnt blame the people making the game, but we should blame the consoles they are making the game for? That doesnt make any sense. If they want the game to look better, then make it a PC exclusive. Lets see how SE feel about that...

so you would be fine if the entire game would be limited and dowgraded just so it would preform right?

It's not that the consoles aren't powerful enough, it's that Luminous is a mess of an engine and won't be used again. Seeing there are games with open areas that look as good on PS4: Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4. I said open areas because both UC4 and FFXV will featue large areas but aren't true open world games.

or even Battlefront

I really love the look of FFXV and wish the engine was optimized better, hope they salvage the engine. Luminous 2.0 needs to happen.

where is battle front an open world game? Horizon doesnt run better than FF15 at all

To say uncharted 4 is less demanding than FF XV is really dishonest, especially when you take alpha screens from 2014.

Here despite the low quality of the screens you can see a game with much better art, lighting, much more foliage, 3 characters a lot more detailed, textures and visuals far better in general, much better physic, AI, etc  and similar draw distance ( if youd know how an open world works, you'd know Uncharted 4 is much more depending than FF XV in this area).

But same is true for FF15 and its not like: here this is the part where you can drive a vehicle now. But its up to the player because its  Open World game

Yes it was.

When porting a "superior" PC game to an "inferior" console, as a developer, you only have 2 options: don't make the game because you don't want to cut anything, or make it and cut whatever you need to, to make it run smoothly and also be as fun as the PC version. If the compromises are way too big, don't make the port, simple as that.

What do you think developers did back in the arcades to port games to the SNES and Genesis? the consoles were clearly inferior to the arcades, which let them have to make in most cases huge compromises, yet some of those games (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Sunset Riders, etc) are still considered great games and still enjoyed to this day, and most of them run perfectly fine.

In fact, FF XV has less of an excuse, there's no PC version as far as I'm aware of, so it's not like they had to port a PC game...the developers from the very beginning had to work with consoles, from the drawing board to making the code. So it's very clear that if there are issues people are complaining about, the only ones to blame are the developers.

Let me ask you, if the PS4 and XBOX ONE are "not good enough" to run FF XV, what do you want? wait for the PS4.5? wait for the PS5? make the game on PC only? all of these options will make the already ultra high development costs of the game even higher, and make fans even angrier (since they have to wait longer), and who knows, since the game is, in your words, "so ambitious" no console or PC will ever match what apparently the developers are trying to do.

Was that supposed to demonstrate how FFXV's visuals are on the same level as UC4? Cuz you're really only proving his point here. Fullscreening each image you can clearly see the inferior...just about everything, really, in XV. Lighting, foliage, characters, textures, physics, AA, color, detail, blending, on and on. Just about the only thing that image has going for it is the scale of that monster.

Episode Duscae did have less severe framerate drops than the Platinum demo, yeah, but it could still fall to around 20fps at times. It was also 900p on PS4 and 792p on Xbox One, while those screens are 1080p.

I don't know, the DF video for verson 2.0 on Duscae is still pretty rough. Especially on Xbox One, where they saw a low of 12 fps.

Nothing we've seen so far really shows this game running well. Framerates have always been an issue as has pretty significant aliasing.
