Forums - Gaming - Q1/Q2 2017 could be already amazing

Scalebound is gonna be great, hyped for that one. Crackdown 3 might get delayed to then I haven't seen any gameplay on it so it's possible. and there will probably be one or 2 unannounced games.

I dont see how Mass Effect Andromeda can be bad by your reasoning.People like, myself included, to try new things and new storys in the same established franchise(By that I mean using the estabilished lore and/or the same tone that the overall franchise has).I mean, if thats true, then Square should stop making Final Fantasy titles, since they all are pretty different from each other.I see nothing bad with it.

The problem with Mass Effect, unlike your example of Final Fantasy or any franchise which has unrelated entries aside from few mythos here and there is that the trilogy, Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3, told the story of a particular character. Commander Shepard. There's no Mass Effect without Shepard, to put it bluntly. The grand scheme of things always worked around Shepard. Mass Effect 1 was the tale of a single soldier - Shepard - undercovering the imminent threat to the galaxy. Mass Effect 2 was the collective effort of bringing back Shepard because no one else could stop what was going in motion. And Mass Effect 3 was the finale, where Shepard chose the destiny of the galaxy and the species that lived within it.

There's a reason why you can't import a ME2 file into ME3 with a dead Shepard. Because ME3 wouldn't make any slick of sense otherwise. Bioware themselves said it so, if Shepard dies in ME2, the story is concluded there. Mass Effect is Commander Shepard and Commander Shepard is Mass Effect.

Now here comes Andromeda...which will be a totally unrelated game to the franchise, lore and mythos aside. See the problem here?

Don't forget about Mario Kart 9, probably on NX ;)

Being honest, I really dont see the problem.

I understand what you mean.If they were, in the first trilogy, to suddenly change up the protagonist, then I would agree, because those three games were about Sheppards story.I completely agree with you.The point is that Andromeda is(most likely) a new trilogy. It takes place centuries after the last game, in a place that the threaths of the first games are gone, and new ones are to emerge. And for that, a new main protagonist makes completely sense.

If for you speaking about Mass Effect(as a franchise) is the same as speaking about Shepard, then i can understand. But for me is more about the universe, the species, the setting, and all its history about it.So a new trilogy with a new protagonist makes sense for me

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I guess it is a different way to view it. I'm just not sure about Andromeda at all, to be honest.

Well Bioware IS  owned by EA, so everything is possible. But by their track record, I guess it will be a very good game at least.I will keep my fingers crossed

Tbh I wouldn't expect another MK until 2018 at the earliest. There was 6 years between MK Wii and 8, its still gonna take some time even if it's a hybrid affair like Smash 4.

but MK didn't just release on home consoles as Smash did, MK also released every 3 years alternatively on HC and HH so since we had MK8 in early 2014 I can see MK9 coming to NX in 2017...

Honestly people tend to say this every year and that is mostly because people expect some games to release early than expected.

Don't forget Shenmue III.

Also, the KojiPro game might come out in 2017.

Capcom also has at least one more unannounced PS4 exclusive (it'll probably be announced @ E3 this year), and the Onimusha trademark DID get renewed, little food for thought.
