Well we have access to QB earlier than I expected so I've been spending some time with it.

Thus far, I like it. The graphics are great, some of the best we've seen this gen. Looks like there is some artifacts and some blurriness from the temporal effect but all the post processing really cleans up the jaggies of the usual 720p presentation.

I'm enjoying the story telling, gun play feels great, I'm happy with it. I came into it with modest expectations but I'm impressed.

How do you feel about the television breaks? Good, bad, or okay? Is it something that should continue or go away?

Haven't got to those yet. But I think those only account for about 90 minutes of a 10 hours game. So not that excessive compared to some MGS games. Its not like they're a surprise.

EDIT: Just got done watching the first live episode, its well done. My concern is the live episodes might be boring, serious dialogue (kinda like MGS). But its fun and moves fast, better than I expected.

Yeah I only played for an hour or so...but enjoying it so far.remedy are just very good story tellers.

Also did anyone see the alan wake hint in the tv show that sam lake was in?

I played two chapters and watched two episodes last night and I can say this game is something else entirely. I'm not sure how it should be reviewed since it's more than a game imo. Like all Remedy games, it has some minor flaws but these flaws along with top quality stuff make the overall game such a unique experience.

I love how they always approach the storytelling, not afraid to throw clichés around and they have some youthful enthusiasm going on there :) Can't really explain it better. It's not for everyone and some will find their style a bit silly I guess.

Gameplay:

- Visuals have been discussed enough now, I'll just say it look cool and stunning and have a very distinctive style.
- Voice acting + facial expressions is maybe the best I've seen in any game, it really helps you immerse to story.
- Gunplay is what I expected, smooth, fast paced and most importantly, great fun! Normal difficulty felt too easy, but then I noticed I had full aim assist on. Turn it off for more challenge.
- There's more platforming sequences than I expected, but I like to search around for collectibles since they add to the story. I really can't understand complaints about Joyce's movement, to me it feels smooth and good. I had more issues with movement in Assassin's Creed Syndicate I think.

TV-Show:

- Actors do a fantastic and professional job with their characters. They don't overact their characters and make them believable.
- It's well produced and directed, only those Monarch uniforms look silly.
- I love it how it gives you a closer look at these bad guy's lives and characteristics. You don't see this often, even though Austin Powers already did it superbly :)
- 20min episodes are a bit short imo, I'd have gladly watched longer episodes.

Overall the game is insane and bizarre, but damn it works! I can see it's not for everyone's taste though, but you really have to experience it yourself.
