I said that i was misinformed. gaming articles never said this was made by a small team in only a few months... Y'know I do say when I'm wrong...
Also, I tend to only be negative on VGChartz. Why? Not quite sure. Probably because saying "I like ponies!" will create a dead chat, while sharing a viewpoint where you seem dissatisfied with something will cause a good discussion.
Additionally, I didn't find much wrong with the game. The frame rate drops were noticeable a few times, but I didn't see it much when it dipped to 20ish.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

That isn't necessarely true. I have bought games before due to good demo's. The important point here is a good demo vs a bad demo. A bad demo is gonna hurt sales. A good demo is gonna help sales. The problem publishers have is that they can't tell what they are gonna get. In essence demos make bad situations worse and good situations better. So... theres more to lose from making a bad situation worse than a good situation better cause its already good. |
I should have been more clear. I'm just repeating what a Dev told game informer back when I used to get the magazine. I think they did stats or something like that and it was revelead it actually tends to do more harm than good. I'll be honest I've never thought a game was good off a demo. In fact one game Tales of Vesperia had a demo and I didn't like it. I took a chance anyways much later on and got the game used and once I got past the demo section the game was so good. I do wish more companies would release demos though.
This reminds me how much better casual gamers have it. They just play the freaking game and if they enjoy it, great. If they don't like the gameplay/story, they quit. Simple as that. Maybe ignorance is bliss, but I don't see how they have it any worse than people here obsessing over the tiniest detail.
They don't waste their time and energy worrying about imperfect graphics in this and that area.
Like I get finding the graphics of a game like Devil's 3rd unacceptable and distracting, but this demo? Where you have to stop and zoom to find a problem?
Give me a break.

You guys have rotten your brains with those PCs running games at 4k and 120fps.
Gameplay > Sound > Story >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Graphics

I am sooo glad I am not bothered by these little things. Heck I'm not even bothered by bad framerate or low resolution. 720p, 30fps, and jaggies outlining it? Who cares. If i can't stand the story or the game play - I stop playing. The game can be 4k, 120FPS Ultra settings - it won't matter. |
Yup. I think the expression "can't see the forest for the trees" perfectly applies here.

You know... i really dislike when people start making stuff up to defend what is indefensable. Look at this first picture posted previously in this thread:
Look at that building in the skyline. Its an effin square with a super low res texture and no lighting. And this isn't the worst. I almost feel like booting up the demo again just to show you how much worse it was in the water city but i already deleted it. Now go and show me something like that on the witcher 3 or even Dragon age inquisition wich is a cross gen game. That is effin sloppy work. Completely unnaceptable. The final game better not have anything of the sort or reviews are gonna drill it a new one. |
Witcher 3 and dragon age had the same on consoles, they also had lousy character models and alpha effect except for Gerald. In FF15 every character and enemy look like they were built from the same amount of poligons like the main characters in those two mentioned games. Stop being picky

Ooooooh. I was extremely misinformed then.
People told me this was a demo showcasing a portion of the entire game. No wonder why some of the details were blurry and whatnot.
I know the game is 6 months away, and a game can be extremely polished in half a year. Personally, i would give the demo a 9/10 review(with dropped framerates the only issue). While I would be disappointed if framerate wasn't fixed, I wouldn't care much. the game looks phenomenal, and I can't wait to get it |
If true that makes me have higher hopes..not that I was that concerned about the FPS/resolution issue for my own personal enjoyment, but because I want this game to not give any negative nancies an inch to critique the game too harshly on some minor issues while completely ignoring the magical journey the game will (hopefully) give us.
That being said, this demo like someone else said in this thread might give people a very wrong impression.
