Forums - General - Boku No Hero Academia will only have 13 episodes

I have been extremely enthusiastic about this series since the manga debut, and I was still looking foward to the anime. Very uunfortunately, my worst fears for the series came to fruition:

The anime will be short. Only 13 episodes

The series, in my opinion, needed at least 1 more year before becoming an anime, and I feel the rush to make an anime, the 3DS game, and so on, have all been because of the momentum of the hype from the manga.

It only gets worse. I watched the first episode today, and it only covers half the pilot. I think that made the first episode somewhat dissapointing, because it really only shows Midoriya at his worst state, without showing that glimpse of resolve that encompasses the who he is for the rest of the series.I hope they don't cut anything from the anime that was in the manga. That would really constitute my greivance.

I mean overrall it was animated well and tthe voice acting is great. The opening animation is pretty good and the music is excellent, truly Porno quality.

I am still looking foward to the season and am very confident that the reception it gets will be "very well received" by the end of the season, but for those who have read the manga, it may be a bit dissapointing. At the very least the quality won't suffer and if this is done yearly at the 13-15 episode pace, I may not ultimately mind as much because it would keep consistent quality and give the manga and anime breathing space.

The anime already started, but here's a PV.

I don't know when I may have the chance to talk about it again, but I hope it turns out great in spite of all the obstacles to greatness

Around the Network

I haven't read the manga, but I thought the first episode did a good job setting the atmosphere. It also didn't feel rushed, which is a problem I have with a lot of shounen adaptations.

The manga is in Jump, and so I'd assume the studio would have more faith in the series...but it might be there's another factor at play. Maybe the manga isn't popular enough in Japan to warrant more than one season, or the budget for the single season is too high to warrant anything more.

Still, if the anime increases the sales of the manga, I think there's a good chance it'll be renewed for another season. If the quality keeps up, and they don't try to rush the series, I'd certainly welcome it.

It's one cour ?!

That's good news to me since I barely have time anymore for my hobbies. I might find it more interesting this time than the first several chapters I've read from the manga ...

Hope you enjoy it. We had highly differing opinions before, so I hope this makes you look at this differently.
