Well, its his belief. But he does exagerate quite alot
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

That one mentioning outrun and kicking the chair for immersion sure gave me a chuckle

In other news, Ubisoft Montreal creative director seems like kind of a dick head.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
Its the first fucking real vr generation. Right now we are only hitting 2 senses: sight and sound. Vive is working on room scale... and all are using some touch by using props (motion controls).
Yes because why would a director of a studio that does the same exact shit over and over again WANT anything that changes the way how people play games. But Alex don't worry you guys can still make Far Cry and Assassins Creed with or without VR support and it would still sell good. But thwt doesn't mean that VR is shit, it does prove you are not all that creative, because if anyone should be excited for VR it should be the creative director.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
i got my first taste of VR gaming with the Gear VR yesterday, its pretty neat but not very practical.
i have a wife and young kids so i cant really get away with putting on a face covering helmet and playing games for long periods of time.
it seems like something ill mess around with for a few weeks just because its a new piece of tech or show it off when people come over but i dont see it having lasting appeal in its current form.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
Spoiler alert, the rest of his twitter account is equally shitty.

VR may flop. It won't be the first time for a hyped tech, with major corporations backing it, to flop.
I don't buy this 'VR' either. Sorry but at this point its just not that revolutionary or innovative of a different experience. I mean motion controls directly attached to your head (?) could be cool, like turning your head to look around.
but beyond that what's new about it? even in terms of regular gaming on a screen, the perspective is quite similar. if you sit 1 foot in front of your moniter the screen is going to take up practically your whole vision and the perspective will look similar to even if you had something strapped to your head (I guess there's the periphial viewpoint but still).
I guess what I'm saying is I don't get what's so revolutionary or special about it at this point. The VR concepts that involve like whole sets of materials in a room where you're using a bigger space with sensors to try and immerse yourself and fully move the body- that seems like a big step forward.
simply strapping a screen to your face and being able to move your head and move in game possibly instead of with a button in some cases (?) is not that special. I don't know.
I think we've all tried things like this in the past. All I know is personally I like to game and do other things at the same time. strapping a contraption to the head seems overbearing and uncomfortable. Its not casual enough, comes off as a gimmick like the Wii Motion controls. Which again, can be cool in small doses but certainly didn't take over gaming just like I don't expect this level of VR gaming to
maybe in 10 years when the tech is advanced further
