Hotel Mario is the best

May I just say what a pleasure it is to see a topic created to actually give praise to a game. So many people create topics just to bash games and start needless flame wars by presenting subjective opinions as supposedly indisputable facts. But not this time. Here, we have a person giving complements to a game. Thank you, Pavolink, for rising above the petty behavior shown by so many posters, and being a shining beacon of inspiration to us all.

I prefer the Super Mario Galaxy games, but Super Mario 3D World was really fun too imo.

Galaxy 2 &1 is much better.

Sunshine & 64 are both better as well imo.

You know, if you want go April Fools, gotta pick a more objectively ludicrous statement. For example, Sonic 06 is the best platformer of all time. Or "Ocarina of Time has the best writing of any Zelda." Those are April Fools worthy.

This is something you could actually have a genuine discussion. I myself have played both 3D World and Galaxy and for example feel the way 3D World handles powerups is FAR superior to Galaxy's flavor-of-the-day gimmick where the powerups have all the flexibility of the most contextual of Zelda items, lik the Spinner or something. In 3D World, they are augmentations like in the original Mario games, allowing you to both more easily take on the main path and explore other areas of the levels.  Not saying the Galaxy powerups aren't unique or interesting.  Just that they are handled poorly and are far too contextual.

Pavolink is well known to hate on games if they don't suit his specific taste regardless of quality, including 3D World, so this is supposed to be a joke as he'd never praise the game, but it fails since it's mostly true.

April fools or not, 3DWorld is the second worse 3D Mario ever, only 3DL is worse.

Finally someone gets it. Never got why 3D world got the hate it got...

3D World is genuinely my second favorite 3D Mario game after 64.
