That is 7 million on just two platforms.

According to SteamSpy - the Steam version alone sold 550k+

Since the data from VGchartz and SteamSpy may not be 100% correct - estimation would be between 6.5 mil to 7.5 mil overall just for Final Fantasy XIII.

I believe FFXV will do similar numbers since the series isnt in the position it was during the PS1 era and if not at max 8 to 9 mil on PS4/XB1/PC together due to the hype. Doing 10 mil on either platform alone is more of a Fantasy than a reality (no pun intended :p).

And no I did not hear you because I'm on a laptop, not on a phone or next to you - and I see what you are saying, again doesnt guarantee that FFXV will sell 10 million alone on PS4.

Amazon's sale records does not guarantee 10 million seller for PS4.

A 30,000 limited edition SKU being sold out absolutely does not guarantee a 10 million seller. It only ensures that interest is there and people actually value the limited edition deal (scalpers included).

None of the other data you provided guarantee that FFXV will sell 10 million alone on the PS4.

 

Final Fantasy is not Call of Duty, GTA or Pokemon - it wont sell 10+ million on just one platform alone. (As much as I hate to admit it considering I'm a huge FF freak ;p)

They are making a good Marketing, this make me think that it will sell 10 Millions on PS4, because the Xbox One's Sales will be nearly to nothing, the Install Base don't like Japanese games, this is the Second Most Expensive Final Fantasy Game, so it might break 10 Millions,  the game is having a lot of Pre-orders, People purchasing it over Dark Souls, or Quantum Break, means something.

because final fantasy isnt half the brand it used to be. specially in the west

Final Fantasy, still much Strong, you cannot use Spin-off sales as a metric to say that the Franchise isn't relevant, Final Fantasy X-2, was the best selling Spin-off, because the Characters of FFX,  were one of the best of Final Fantasy's Franchise.

 

Final Fantasy, still strong in the Western, now i think that is stronger than ever, if Japan Sales, were Higher for Final Fantasy XIII, the game could've out-sold Final Fantasy 8, in just one system. one of the top 3 Best Selling Final Fantasy games.

This is an ps2 era game.  The gaming landscape changed.  How cares about ff anymore? Some 30 years olds nostalgics.  But ask the youth if the know what ff is and plan to play.  Not gonna happen

I feel like most of the sales rest in the shoulders of the ps4 as I can not see this game selling on xb1 as well as ff13 did on xb360. I see it around 1m to 1.5 m on xb1 so in other words, I dont think it gonna get there and if it does, it gonna required selling more on ps4 than what ff13 did on ps3 followed by new platform such as PC and NX.

Final Fantasy, is the biggest JRPG Franchise of all times, the biggest in Worldwide Appeal, only Dragon Quest, was able to compete with it, but just on Japan, Worldwide, aways was Final Fantasy, the Game will sell those 4-5 Millions in less than 1 Week.

its possible, but its going to need 2 mil or so form Japan.

I think being multiconsole might give it a chance for 8 mil in the west.

The key is its quality. If its a 90+ meta game I think 10 mil is a good shot. 85-89 or so it has a decent chance. 80-84 is a long shot, would need really good word of mouth. Less than 80, no chance.

FFXIII, is the lowest rated one, and even being the lowest rated, it is 83 on Metacritic, of course FFXV, will be better than FF13 (i hope so, is a Open World), i think that will of course be rated 85+ on Metacritic.
