It's like the jaguar controller then ? It changes with the games ?

The problem with Nintendo is they "captured lightning in a bottle" with the Wii, but they were apparently blind to the fact that its success was not based on a revolution in gaming, but a flash in the pan novelty. They continued to try and capture that success with more novelty ideas instead of focusing on games. Microsoft got trashed because "they didn't focus on the gamer." Well, Nintendo has been doing the same thing and getting a pass. Just make a powerful system and give us an open world Zelda and a new Metroid game and some solid 3rd party titles.

Don't worry OP, I know most comments here have been overwhelmingly negative but I think your analysis was very interesting. I'm still not 100% convinced that this will be the NX controller, but if it is, this post has definitely made me more receptive to it. Thanks.

I don't mind Nintendo innovating as long as it's good, which in the case of this ''leak'', it isn't. Just imagine playing something like Smash or Bayonetta on that thing! If it ends up being true I just hope they offer a regular controller to go with it...

I think that's the priciple, in part.  But it's also about allowing complex action with a simple interface.  The sticks and shoulder bumpers are capable of more detailed input that previous iterations.  Presently a bumper is pressed or not pressed.  The new bumpers will be pressed, not presssed, moved left, moved right.  Essentially one digitial input option becomes 1 digital input plus 2 analogue inputs, creating infinite more interaction.  Same with the sticks, which can be far more complex than existing sticks but also be as simple as a button.

Or maybe NX is next Jaguar confirmed.

I believe the new style of analogue will work just fine to control Mario.  I use analogues in NSMBU.  And third parties rejected Wii U because of the system in general.  The statement above is not that third parties will embrace NX, simply that if the do not support it, it won't be because of the controller.

Also, if you can't see that the vertical NX pad without grips is very much like a Wii mote in simplicity, you are blind.

You are crazy on all accounts.

Call me crazy, just don't call me late for dinner.

Did you play Smash on Wii?

Still sounds terrible to me. If this thing is seriously the nx controller then it will be the first Nintendo console I don't buy

Weird.  You have no idea what the games will be and yet you won't buy it.  Did you buy a Wii?  This seems far more core-gamer oriented.

I was 10 when the Wii came out if it released today I would be way more sceptical

So i walk a character to the left and then goes behind a joystick. Brilliant idea.

You poor thing.  You must be having some strange experience with your games that I have never known.  How are you dealing with your characters walking off the side of the TV?

My point is the joysticks obstruct the screen, the whole thing looks a mess.

Thanks, and I fully expect the comments to be negative.  We have yet to see if this is truly the device, and of course, yet to see or experience a game played with it.  However, through all the leaks I think the device is starting to become clear, and I think once it is seen in action, many will embrace it.
