From what I recall, Pokemon spin-offs do decent in terms of sales, at least worldwide. It's just that they pale in comparison to the mainline games. One of the best selling spin-offs are the Stadium games, Snap, and a few others, and most of them were released during the height of the phenomenon. Later on, games like the Ranger series, the Mystery Dungeon series, Pinball, etc. have decent sales, averaging around 1-3 mllion worldwide. Then you got obscure games like Conquest that sold okayish..guess Bandai and Pokemon don't mix well, at least in sales. :P

In terms of Japan, though, I'm not exactly sure (since we're in a topic about Japanese sales anyway). Still, even if Pokken has sold about 70,000 in FW in Japan, its still pretty good considering what it is: a Wii U game, a fighting game (which is sorta out of Pokemon's natural element), and a Pokemon console spin-off. To beat a mainline fighting game like Street Fighter V is impressive, though it also speaks to unfortunate circumstances that V had to go through. For a fighting game with high expectations to not even debut with even half the sales of Smash Bros. Wii U  in Japan, and is exclusive on a console that is closing in on Wii U's Japanese LT sales, mind you, then something is wrong with either the game itself, the genre's status in Japan, or something else.

There are rumors out there that Western games does not move consoles in Japan, but that is not true, the Playstation 4, did not dropped because it had The Division, and other launchs during the Month, i think that Pokken, is the first launch of the month for the Wii U.

Yeah but the division released last week. I don't remember an actually big release for it to be selling this steady

What other 3D figjting games on the 3DS? I don't think I bought yet.
