I can completely understand Nintendo that they doesn't want to release games for Wii U anymore.
If even Pokemon can't do at least 100k on this platform then something is wrong.
The game would have done much better on 3DS.

Street Fighter 5, one of the famous franchises for fighting games, maybe even the most recognizable one, sold less in the first week in Japan on PS4 that has no stock problems.Like Tbone said, outside of the main series, its not because it has Pokemon stampled on it will mean instant success.All things considered, Pokken did decent to good

From what I recall, Pokemon spin-offs do decent in terms of sales, at least worldwide. It's just that they pale in comparison to the mainline games. One of the best selling spin-offs are the Stadium games, Snap, and a few others, and most of them were released during the height of the phenomenon. Later on, games like the Ranger series, the Mystery Dungeon series, Pinball, etc. have decent sales, averaging around 1-3 mllion worldwide. Then you got obscure games like Conquest that sold okayish..guess Bandai and Pokemon don't mix well, at least in sales. :P

In terms of Japan, though, I'm not exactly sure (since we're in a topic about Japanese sales anyway). Still, even if Pokken has sold about 70,000 in FW in Japan, its still pretty good considering what it is: a Wii U game, a fighting game (which is sorta out of Pokemon's natural element), and a Pokemon console spin-off. To beat a mainline fighting game like Street Fighter V is impressive, though it also speaks to unfortunate circumstances that V had to go through. For a fighting game with high expectations to not even debut with even half the sales of Smash Bros. Wii U  in Japan, and is exclusive on a console that is closing in on Wii U's Japanese LT sales, mind you, then something is wrong with either the game itself, the genre's status in Japan, or something else.

Ummmm that thread wasn't even about Pokken vs. Digimon and my comment wasn't meant to create some stupid competition between the two. It was just an observation I made based on what retailers were showing.

I know this may be hard for you to comprehend but not everything has to be this fanboy war between Sony stuff and Nintedo stuff.

Lol, is so nice to see Digimon, and Pokemon, on the top of the Chart, nearly with the same Sales, i wish that those Franchises had the same rivality like the days when Digimon's First Season, was competing against Pokemon.
