So now Factor 5 is good that they are working on the Wii...I thought they were supposed to be one of the worst devs in history after Lair?

Everybody knows they screwed lair up , because Sony was pressuring them to hately finish it.

I'm sure nintendo would let Factor 5 have as much time as they want, it's not like they are going to run out of 1st party games.

What no way in hell! Nintendo is doing their best to bring back as many of their older IP's as possible and to create new IP's! Nintendo has a history of outsourcing its old IP's and unsupported IP's games like StarFox, MetroidPrime, Donkey Kong.

But they do not just give a liscense out and then let the developer do as they please. I mean yes Nintendo is known for giving the developers alot of creative freedomes they are not really known for giving them a free slate. Both Metroid Prime and StarFox were pushed out ahead of the expected time (Developers had to meet dates). Now of course with StarFox Nintendo gave Namco some breathing room but it was eventually announced that the game would be launched ready or not on a specific date. I remember all the talk that Namco hadn't been able to perfect the game before it was released!

Factor5 is well known for using existing IP's (StarWars/PilotWings) even though PilotWings never saw release it was widely known that Factor5 had been developing one. So thats another very real idea , Factor5 could have easily gone back and salvaged the old GameCube game they were developing and picked up where they left off!

As for Lair destroying Factor5's credibility the game wasn't that good apparently (never played myself) but it was visually impressive and the game also supported the PS3 Axis controller and that shows Factor5's ability to adapt and create new control concepts to make use of the Wiimote!

Wow, a lot of hatred towards Factor 5 here.

It's really typical that everyone here starts screaming that they don't want the game from Factor 5, while chances are:

a) 90% here hasn't even played the NES game
b) Nintendo/Miyamoto won't let a dev screw up one of their franchises
c) F5 is a very good developer. They made one of the best, and certainly best looking, GameCube games. And say what you want about LAIR, it sure looked better than the average PS3 game. If platforming will be involved there will be involvement from the people that made SMG.

I don't know if this comment was partially directed toward me, but:

a) I played the NES game when it was released and again on the Virtual Console (and finished it, without cheating)
b) I agree, Miyamoto was directly involved in Metroid Prime because they didn't want to mess up the franchise
c) They definitely made some great Rogue Squadron games, but like I was saying, this requires a much different kind of gameplay design than a platforming and exploration game, as most people expect the next Kid Icarus to become.  I'd love to have Factor 5 do the coding while Nintendo does all the design.

d) We're getting way ahead of ourselves anyway.  :)  There's no real information that F5 is working on KI.
