Do you think Sony and Microsoft kept their promises?

Yes, they kept their promises. 25 26.32%

Yes, they overdelivered. 6 6.32%

Yes, but they took too long. 23 24.21%

No, they underdelivered. 41 43.16%

Total:95

So far PS3 delivered more for me than PS4 has. But then I bought PS3 much later into the lifecycle than when I bought PS4. If it wasn't for Infamous Second Son being a "launch window" title I think I possibly would have waited until about now (UC4 release window) to buy it. Indeed more than likely I'd be waiting until July this year to buy it (and UC4) for my birthday.

Yeah. I remember that. Actually, I wasn't interested in this feature as I hardly ever buy DLC and don't want my HDD filled with it but I'm sure many others are.

Though, I'd be very interested in the consoles automatically downloading patches for all owned games and pre-downloading patches for all pre-orders. If put in rest mode they already do the former, don't they?

I can only speak for the PS4, but yeah it does download patches/updates while in rest mode.  I have noticed that this feature can be a little sporadic though.  Sometimes I'll turn my PS4 on and all my games are updated (nice), while other times Ill start a game and then it will start to patch (boooo).

Yeah I've tried that as well. That's why I wasn't sure XD

All three big consoles do that--unless you play the game at juuuuuuust the right time and you get caught. Even the WiiU will say "Data has finished downloading" and keep harassing you until you finally play the game. PS4 and XB1 will update and you'll nicer know. --well, you'd never know if the PS4 didn't tell you in the "notifications".

The Xbox side is missing where they promised to make games less expensive and where the Xbox one will increase in power by 700% due to the power of the cloud. Those are both promises MS has failed to deliver on. So far the only thing Sony has failed (although minor) is the PlayGo stuff.

If PlayGo is the opportunity to start playing the start of a game before everything has been downloaded and installed, I think my PS4 is capable of that(?).

Iirc I've been able to do that with PvZ Garden Warfare, Driveclub, Infamous, World of Tanks, etc.

This absolutely works, recall while downloading Injustice Gods Among Us once the download was a couple of GB complete it allowed the game start up with the Story mode greyed out and let me play practice and versus with a small handful of characters at first but slowly as we played it the roster filled out more and more with each character until it was finally done with all the characters then after another few hours the Story mode and online modes became white instead of Grey while the download still completed.

Drive club worked the same, download was... 47gb I think, game was playable after around 5 were down with many optioned locked opening up but opening up far faster than could play to unlock them, but there was a limit on the usable cars while the game downloaded more models.

Some games don't seem to have it at all though, but I guess for smaller titles they figured it wasn't as important as the huge 50gb+ style games.

Im pretty sure this worked for me with Bloodborne.  I was able to start the game before it had finished downloading, and because of this I couldn't connect online and read all the sweet notes other players were leaving.

Aye you couldn't play the online either for Injustice while some of the characters were being downloaded still, but at the same time it was one of the first games I was downloading after buying the PS4 so I was impressed at how it was able to allow access to portions of the game were were finished.

Warcraft works the same as that now for the MMO, you can pretty much start playing in WoW after about 200mb of the game has downloaded, considering it's a 30gb mmo it's fairly impressive to be able to hop onto a new PC, start the installer then play and let the world load up around you as you adventure. (can give crippling bad MS at times though as the game forgets to allocate some bandwidth for gameplay at times lol).

Here's a question for the X1 users about here, I know that SFV is a PS4 exclusive, but did Ultra Street Fighter 4 come to the X1 store at the same time it was ported to the PS4? or is that part of the exclusive stuff with SFV? wouldn't make much sense considering that SF4 is even out on the 3DS heh.

Just recently picked up a copy of USF4 from that Easter sale (€12) and was thinking... fuck sake so much a better more complete game than the €70 barebones edition of SFV on the store.

What the console is capable of doing doesn't necessarily mean that is what devs will always aim for

Ads are always like this so can't really say they did or didn't

Yeah. I definitely did as well. I hoped it would be part of PS Plus and just let you stream your PS1/PS2/PS3 games if you inserted the disc in your PS4.
