Does anyone remember, during the PS4 reveal, them talking about 'pre-downloading' content that PSN thinks you might have some interest in? Like if you are hardcore into a game it might download a demo for you of a similar game, or download the DLC so that when you purchased it would be immediately available?

For some reason thats one of the few things I remember from the reveal, and I'm pretty sure its not currently implemented.

Yeah. I remember that. Actually, I wasn't interested in this feature as I hardly ever buy DLC and don't want my HDD filled with it but I'm sure many others are.

Though, I'd be very interested in the consoles automatically downloading patches for all owned games and pre-downloading patches for all pre-orders. If put in rest mode they already do the former, don't they?

The Xbox side is missing where they promised to make games less expensive and where the Xbox one will increase in power by 700% due to the power of the cloud. Those are both promises MS has failed to deliver on. So far the only thing Sony has failed (although minor) is the PlayGo stuff.

If PlayGo is the opportunity to start playing the start of a game before everything has been downloaded and installed, I think my PS4 is capable of that(?).

Iirc I've been able to do that with PvZ Garden Warfare, Driveclub, Infamous, World of Tanks, etc.

Anything on topic?

You're right though that they both go a long way to convince us. Combined they'd definitely be a strong force. I'd vote for that :p

So far the support for the camera has been a bit underwhelming to say the least.
It was advertised as having stereo vision for depth perception and using the light on the controller to determine who is holding what. Yet I don't think anything has actually used those features. Well maybe Just dance, when the light is right it does manage to keep me and my kids apart, most of the time. Much more reliable to use move controllers though.

Does anyone use the face recognition and voice controls on ps4? I never tried it, camera is disconnected 99% of the time.

What are those images exactly? They are so similar that surely they were not compiled by Sony and MS. They must be compiled by someone else based on various PR and advertising that had been around at the time.

Bold: Wouldn't that still be Sony and Microsoft's promises?

I think you're right though. I think someone made the Sony list as a response to Microsoft's. I'm pretty sure Microsoft's list is official. I'm almost certain I saw that picture a few years ago posted here by someone who got it in a mail from Microsoft. Anyone able to confirm?

Well, yeah, but unless the information is sourced back to an official ad or PR statement it's largely unsubstantiated. If the MS image is official PR then you can assess it directly. And if the Sony one is something some random Sony fan pulled together then some of the "claims" are merely mirroring the MS claims. For instance "Biggest Blockbuster Exclusives" is the random fan's claim, not Sony's claim. So you can't "check off" Sony on that claim since they [possibly] never made it.

I agree. The camera is very underused. Good thing they didn't bundle it as originally planned.

I don't know aboout the face recognition as I haven't bought the camera yet. I'm going to when/if I buy the PSVR one day. Voice controls works pretty good even though English isn't my first language and even though I used the cheap headphone with mic that's included with the PS4.

I don't know if it delivered for everyone but my xbox one is the most fun with video games I've ever had so for me I'd say it did.

You're right about that. Gotta ignore those then ;)

Yeah. From what I've tried it's a great console. I hope Microsoft keeps investing in the brand and inhouse game development and I'll return as a customer shortly.
