Forums - Microsoft - Quantum Break: Digital Foundry Hands-On (XB1)

I'm not really concerned about the resolution, I just hope it's a great game and XB1/PC owners enjoy it. The 'wars' aside, there are some great devs that are owned by all these companies, and it's a shame seeing good content under-perform and seeing devs suffer from it.

I'm sure it won't hurt the overall quality of the game, but there have been some conversations lately about whether the gap between the Xbox One and the PS4 has been shrinking, and it's obviously not. Comparing this to Uncharted 4 proves that.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Well, this game had never been listed in Amazon top100, and this news will not help X1 version sales..

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I meant the power gap. Uncharted 4 is a much better looking game that is a full 1080p and runs better.

That settles it:

  • Single Player Game
  • No Multiplayer (duh)
  • 720p Resolution
  • 30 Frames per Second
  • Simultaneous Launch with PC

There is not one single reason to buy the Xbox One version if you have a capable PC (imo).

No offence but this is a stupid statement. You could say this about any multiplatform game on any console. For example take a look at No Man's Sky that game has no advantage in performance on the ps4 compared to pc. There are only a few couple titles that I can think of that have an advantage on console over pc.

Imo I don't really care about this resolution espacially when DF isn't even actually sure that it is 720p. But this game is for sure one of the best looking games of this gen.

While the resolution is pretty disappointing, what I find really surprising is that so many other compromises have been made in addition to the resolution cut (assuming the build DF played is similar to the final build). While it's still a very nice looking game, I feel like with so many compromises (some quite large, at least as far as the render budget goes), it should look even better.

Still, the game itself looks like a lot of fun, and i'm fortunate enough to have a PC that should be able to run it with fewer compromises. I just wish i could get it on Steam :(

I have to ask, did people commenting here actually watch that second vid where they talk about resolution and tech Remedy is using? There's some serious overreacting going on. Maybe OP should add more about it in first post? Just a suggestion.

Game looks amazing but people just care about a number LOL.

Reminds me of Killzone 6 and how it was "amazing" because the MP ran at native 1080p then we find out it wasn't native 1080p at all. Yet no one knew until these guys analyzed it. Apparently everyone's buying on PC anyway?

I went out and pre-ordered this game, just so I could cancel it. 720p? What is this? The time of Charlemagne?

- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."

Cancelling a game pre-order just because of resolution is silly in my personal opinion. The Last Guardian could run at 720P or 900P and I still wouldn't cancel my pre-order.
