Is there really a gif of that?

Yep here : http://imgur.com/yEg0TGz

There would be less bad news if they wouldnt have tried to make people believe it's a technical masterpiece, now reviews talk about low physic with no weight ( cars moving like cardboard box), blur on the screen, low resolution , tearing, assets/LOD taking some time to load while you play and other things i read in an other french technical analysis of the game. http://www.gamersyde.com/news_gsy_preview_quantum_break-17691_fr.html

Though the gameplay is the positive side.

No surprise as I have said the physics looked bad day one. The screen tearing issues were present too. Overrall the game design, character models and art direction are blabd with weird animation.

I think the problem with the game is that it was created to push the "All-In-One" strategy which failed, by having the TV show tie in and thise resources should have been used for game design instead to make a better product.

As for the game play, it looks average so it is nothing special with a time control gimmick that has been done in gaming several times already. The hype comes from this game being a former X1 exclusive, but there is nothing about it that stands out.

I'll just spell it out for you RexSad:

I'm sure everyone would prefer higher resolution and 1080p does look nice and crisp. But it isn't everything and se far we seem to have visually impressive game to play and on top of that it's even more about storytelling and gameplay. 720p can be acceptable, it's the whole package that counts. Also, my X1 is running Beach Buggy Racing 1080p and 60fps no problems. It meets current game standards and QB does not?

I agree with you but it's the lies that MS told and the expectation that they should have been able to deliver on. The also has some other technical flaws while a game like The Order 1886 was technically flawless, but was criticized despite being about story telling and having air tight game play with how great the shooting felt. QB dies not offer anything more, but is getting hype despite it's technical flaws. Double standards are very common in video gaming though. Both among gamers and the media.

I haven't played The Order but I guess there was something to criticize for if it got bad reviews. I thought it looked good since I like 3rd person shooters and I know people who enjoyed it. Quantum Break is not out yet and despite some tech issues, previews have been quite positive and it does look like fun gameplay with impressive visuals. Also Remedy know how to deliver a story and actors are great, there's simply alot to look forward to.

I don't think there's any double standards here at all and I really don't get these constant Order comparisons.

edit. A 3rd person, story driven shooter with awesome visuals and funsolid gameplay does sound nice right? If The Order failed to deliver it doesn't mean a game like that can't be a hit. Maybe being technically flawless isn't everything or even that important?

If it's fun and plays good I'll get it. I haven't bought a game for my bone since rare replay.

The analysis didnt lie, the  physic is indeed really bad and disappointing compared to the promises :

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

Is this gif real? The car seems like it's made of pasteboard.

It is yes, the second one can confirm it. Gamersyde was right about the physic, and about the textures disappearing when you aim something not close enough too :

Remedy is not the master of technic i've been told  or  they have been rushed by Microsoft because the game seems unpolished and unfinished in so many technical ways.

lol, wtf!  That looks like it should have been a pretty simple thing to fix, especially in a game with so many advanced technologies on display like this does.

I'm sure the physics will be fine where it matters, though. I'm just worried that, with the performance issues this is having on XBone, I may need to wait out the PC version until I get a new GPU. I'll be looking forward to the results on that front. The game is easily among the top five most graphically impressive titles I have ever seen.

On another note, does anyone else find it strange that Tomb Raider, which isnt very far behind this, visually, is able to maintain 1080p when QB is only (maybe kinda sorta if you look at it a certain way) 720p?

But anyway if the game is really good, it will make forget the tech.

Yeah i think it's weird too, thats why i think Remedy has been overestimated or they werent really ready to realease the game and could have released it in 1080p and without all the technical flaws with more time. ( we know they need a lot of time to develop a game, we saw with AW )

The time mechanic looks insanely cool to me, and tbh I haven't played enough cover shooters to be tired of the genre. Only Gears 1 in '07 and Uncharted 3 a couple years ago, so I should be able to enjoy it, even if it doesn't light metacritic on fire.

You may be right about Remedy. They've never really been tested with a product of this scale before. I think there may be hope for them to eventually reach 'Naughty gods" status if M$ doesn't totally blow it with their relationship. This also gives me a newfound respect for Crystal Dynamics and all they were able to achieve.

The game did get delayed which Microsoft allowed, plus its also coming to PC which will be pushing the console hardware even further. If UC4 was coming to PC, expect the exact same thing. COnsoles cant keep up with modern PC. They will all need to be watered down. Should be glad this game is available on Consoles in the first place. They must be really pushing if there aiming for 720p and 30 frames. The fact the PS4 isnt that much more powerful only tells the real story behind this. PC is just too far ahead.
