Why everyone talk about fps and resolution when the game looks like shitty boring shooter? I mean why even bother about technical aspects if whole game doesn't good at all?

So by your take I guess you hate uncharted, Gears etc etc. That's fine.

Quantum Break is heavy on storytelling. Many sequences where theres no shooting. Theres some mild puzzles, platforming, story controlled segments and combat. Personally I love a game to tell a good emotional story. I hope it does well so developers keep pushing singleplayer storytelling in the medium.

Alan Wake was bad from both storytelling and repetitive gameplay sides. Didn't played Uncharted, but, yeah, Gears of War was extremely bland. Even co-op didn't help.

I'm not sure what your point is here? 900p/60f is "one step" below the ideal 1080p/60f.
720p/30f is "three steps" below it.

I don't think anyone is arguing that some sacrifices to either of these fields can happen on PS4 as well. But one step down on resolution doesn't compare to two steps down + one step down on the framerates.

My point is the same as it has always been; simply that Xbox One games running below 900p and PS4 games running below 1080p are not surprising to me any more, as there have been plenty of both at this point.

QB was developed as a x1 exclusive. I remember the article where they said that it took them like a day t port the x1 game over to windows 10. But it was from the very begining to the end devloped as an x1 exclusive. I just wish I could find the article.

Dead rising 3 was a launch title. Since the launch, the x1 had a power boost from loosing all kinect functionallity, then released an extra core being saved for os to gaming, then direct x12 came out. The x1 is not the same as when it launched. Not that huge of a diference, but it performs better non the less, so its not excusable.

There is still a precedent for 720p/30fps on Xbox One, so I don't find it shocking at all myself.

This is a Microsoft exclusive, and is using DirectX 12, isn't ?, so with all the Marketing that they made about this the game should atleast run at 900p.

And Uncharted 4, run at 1080p on Single Player, where the Frame Rate, can be 30Fps, and they chose to make the Multiplayer at 900p, to mantain particules and Effects, also the 60FPS.

Quantum Break, don't have Multiplayer, i think that the other Xbox exclusive at 720p was Dead Rising isn't ?, but was because of the Kinect, and also because the game had a sea of Zombies  in each street of the game.

As UC4 shows, sometimes developers choose to sacrifice resolution in order to boost other elements of the graphics, such as framerate in UC4, or zombie counts in Dead Rising. From the look of things, if Quantum Break does turn out to be 720p, I suspect the sacrifice will have been made in order to divert more power into shaders, lighting, and effects.

I'd just like to also point out on all consoles sometimes games look better with a lower native resolution but better AA. Its also worth mentioning what Digital Foundry are commenting on is echoing Remedies own siggraph presentation back in August 2015. Its not all about resolution. Take a look at some of the advance tech other games don't have that Remedy are doing.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/08/25/xbox-one-exclusive-quantum-breaks-wip-screenshots-show-advanced-effects-and-comparisons/

All those screenshots are obviously from the game engine running on a PC neither the console version nor the PC version of the actual game will have anywhere near those level of effects. Crytek also has similar siggraph presentations where they show all these advanced features for thier game engines that don't even make it into their own games because of the GPU power required.

That's not the first 720p game on Xbox One so I don't get what's the problem is.

So we are comparing QB to The Order now...

That actually makes me smile a bit. I dig that game...

The game don't use the DirectX12 ?, is because already is Xbox second year, and this is the biggest graphical showcase for Xbox One until now, so the Xbox One, running it at a same resolution that Xbox 360, played the games,   this is something bad, now we have  4K, and games are coming out at 720p ?, atleast 900p would be aceptable.

It doesn't warrant the poor performance. The only other game to run at 720p and 30fps is SW Battlefront and we all know DICE outright sucks with optimization...

Isn't Battlefront 60fps though? And by my experience it runs very smooth. And looks good. QB also seems to be solid 30fps, how is that a bad performance?

I guess you haven't heard, the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox One.

I know it very well.
What does that add to the discussion?
XBO was also a console targeting 1080p games.
Is it strange to expect the major graphical showcases to hit that?
I'm pretty sure Gears of War 4 will.

If you know it very well, then what would it matter that a game built specifically for the PS4 would run better than a multiplatform game designed for a weaker console?

Xbone has plenty of 1080p games. And idk, is it strange that a game that apparently doesn't hit native 1080p still looks amazing?

Gears of War very well could hit 1080p and still not look as good as Quantum Break does.

It's kind of sad that years into the generation gamers are still so close minded regarding resolution. 1080p or bust, LOL.
