From what I have seen, this app is like Tomodachi life with an emphasis on social interactions

I don't use Facebook very often anymore so I don't really see the need to get this game

Okay so the thing is... Nintendo's new game just debuted at number 2 on the app store. This is definitely going to encourage Nintendo to pursue more mobile games.

I'm just using it for "my nintendo" points.

No app is for everyone. My confusion is over the doubt that it will be for a very, very large amount of people. My confusion comes from comments like "this is probably only good for the japanese market" or "this definitely won't do well in the west." Um, based on what exactly?

I go on FB constantly because it basically acts as my news feed. I also tend to talk to friends there more than anywhere else.

I don't use many social media apps, except for LinkedIn. But if it's something like this that puts a spin on just online text and images, I might check it out.

If this becomes a huge sorce of cash, they will double down on content.  There is still a fringe who thinks  the NX is a mobile phone. 

Well, Nintendo is making mobile games.  This can't be deniged.  I think the question is what role does that play in the Nx.  Could you see a smart phone like device that docs into a more powerful machine?  It seems like all fans accept the idea of the docable unit. But when you suggest that the handheld is a phone, people go crazy.  But we already know that the are making mobile games.  So do you see the thought process here?  The developers get their console for high powered graphics and Nintedo gets is smartphone.  

I will admit, my idea here falls apart when you consider the fact that they released Miitomo in the App store and not their own store on iOS. The idea would be interesting though. 

I think so too, this doesn't seem like something that would be popular on only one region..

Tomodachi Life did really well in Europe so it's too early to assume
