Well, I've been wanting to talk about this manga for a little while now, but it deals with some rather inappropriate topics, like... well, I'll just go into the summary of it. It's called Onani Master Kurosawa.

This story focuses on main character, Kurosawa, a normal high school student whose hobby is, to put it lightly, unloading his desires secluded at his 'secret base' in a girl's bathroom. This is his usual routine after school, until one day a student learns about this hobby of his, a petite girl with glasses. At first, she assures him she'll keep this a secret, but when he learns she's a victim of bullying, she eventually starts to ask him to do favors in return for keeping his after school hobby secret.
Now at first glance, it sounds like a dirty hentai, but it's a deeper story than it lets on. The protagonist, Kurosawa, appears like a lowly pervert, but he really grows into a strong character as the story goes, like having a good sense of justice and seeing people more than annoyances or material for his afterschool sessions. The same goes for the girl with glasses, who deals with her problems differently to Kurosawa.
Also, the art style is quite interesting I feel, drawn with only pencil, but still looking really great.
So yeah, there's that manga... I'm just glad I can finally talk about it, at least. xD

I've started a manga titled Koi wa Hikari. The premise so far is interesting.
The characters are in college. The main character is a guy who is the socially awkward type. He has this odd ability--girls who are in love appear to sparkle when he looks at them. Of course, none of them sparkle at him, which depresses him.
He does have a female friend he talks with at school, and she's pretty darn cute, but she doesn't sparkle. He becomes interested in another girl, who is kind of an idealistic bookworm, and they become friends--but she doesn't sparkle, either. Then another girl appears, one who has a fetish for stealing guys from other girls, drawn by what she thinks is a love triangle.

I've read that. It was really good. Sometimes literature that isn't afraid to be raw or "dirty" can tap into feelings and thoughts that otherwise get ignored in the majority of written works. Some of the best novels I've ever read were unafraid to explore the darker side of their characters. I've read a few manga in that same vein that were also intriguing.
That manga definitely left me feeling conflicted, though. There was real sadness underneath.

Well, this manga not only depresses the protagonist. It also depresses me slightly. Just from the description I feel bad for the guy, but it also sounds interesting. I'll check it out when I get a chance.
Also, glad to hear I wasn't one of the few to have read it. I thought the opening chapters and subject matter would turn most people away. I recall trying to recommend another manga from the same author, Molester Man, and he already rejected it from just the title, although I thought the title was quite good, like a Train Man type of story.
But yeah, I know what you mean. I felt bad for both characters by the end, but I applaud Kurosawa for what he decided to do by the end, despite how rough he had it. That part of the story is what I find interesting between Kurosawa and the glasses girl, they took radically different approaches to their problem, which hers was a sad one. It was overall quite hard for both characters.

I'm glad you finally read Kurosawa
Yeah, it's a very depressing manga, but that's one of the things that makes it stick out, it feels very real. He made some mistakes throughout it, but in the end he was able to come clean and become a better person for it. (Also I think him and the girl he chose at the end are pretty cute together and surprising). Both the guy and the girl had a rough time, but they got a second chance to change things for the better, in a way it reminds me of A Silent Voice too.

Thanks again for the recommendation
I thought it looked dodgy from the title cover and description, but once I figured out it was from the author behind Molester Man, I knew it was gonna be good xD

I gave Koi wa Hikari a read, and so far, I'm not sure how to feel about it. I'm not too crazy about the girl the male lead is trying to pair himself up with. I also wonder about the legitimacy of his powers. They didn't show that Kitashiro is interested in him. Actually, I like those 2 as a pair. They should show more moments of them together xD

Kitashiro is ridiculously cute. She's also intelligent, funny, and surprisingly mature. It's hard not to like her.
What I like is that it's not clear-cut and obvious like a lot of manga. I really have no idea who he is going to "end up with", what his power actually reveals, or even if it's an actual power.

Kitashiro is my fav gal in the story so far, so I'm at least hoping she gets a good end at the very least, haha.
