Some Random Updates from a Random Boom

One Piece: ...shit

Welp...the alliance was dominated utterly. This fight was far too out of their league at this point. Still..my heart skipped a beat when Luffy clashed with Big Mom in Gear Fourth mode, even if he couldn't hold it for long.

Love the "Go Caesar! You're stil trash though..." gag XDD

I forget how the Fishman Island treasure works. Wasn't that what made Hody and his minions into old men? Is it forcing the candy island to age rapidly? Very nice timing if so...shit this arc is intense.

Shokugeki: Ahh....what a good senpai!

Souma's persistence was pretty endearing this chapter. Maybe because he wins so often, seeing him fight someone he doesn't hold a candle against was pretty refreshing. Even Megashima-senpai couldn't resist. "It's a win by default." Ahh....

Tosuke seems like a nice dude. It's funny how he became #3 without really wanting to. How does he know like every Ramen shop though? I wonder if he's been to Ichiraku.

My Hero Academia: Reddo Riot

Random backstory, but a nice one. I didn't realize Ashido and Kirishima went to middle school together. Do they interact often? Maybe I should re-read some old chapters to see. (could be a new ship hehe)

Seems he had confidence issues at some point. Reminds me of Lumillion a bit, since his power is requires so much personal effort. Looking forward to seeing what changed his attitude.

Fairy Tail: 4 Chapters Left

Oh look...the stupid plan to lure the final villain onto a vehicle to give him motion sickness failed. Of course that wouldn't work, stop trying to make this gag serious!

Acnologia is a beast. I wonder how the dragon slayers are going to pull out a win? Well...I say that...but obviously friendship is how.

Let's see how Lucy (and Levy) pull off Fairy Sphere.

Seven Deadly Sins: Suffering

Probably one of the few times I cared about Meliodas. Good chapter overall, and I liked the designs on the goddess and demon kings.

Still...seems like a really convoluted punishment. Seems like it would be worse to me if Liz is reincarnated, but hates him, or cucks him for eternity. Wow I feel kind of evil now.

Also...why does red-head Liz from Danafor look different, while every other Liz we've seen is the same white haired blob with a different outfit?

Hmm...don't see Hunter x Hunter or Promised Neverland yet. *waits patiently*

Well, I am now caught up with Uratarou, and well... I feel betrayed, violated and just... confused at the sudden story shift. Chiyo's cool, manly guard turning out to be an evil spirit possessing him caught me by surprise. Though I wanna know when he got the time to kill Chiyo's mom, and how could he be possessing the muscley guy if he was killed or did he just hang around, pretending to be him..? Anyways, suddenly going to Uratarou being the lead character as well as being completely different, and the goal now being to revive Chiyo is just... so sudden. I need a moment to process this all in... @_@;; Well, the new girl seems funny... also, I wonder what happened to the empress too.

Also, Boku no Hero thoughts:

This chapter feels like a tease. I was hoping to learn more about the big guy's new form, but instead we get... background story on Red, which is cool, but... Did it have to happen now, at such an exciting moment?? T_T I guess in another chapter or 2...

This is a cute and fluffy little 4-koma.  Nanige-san is adorable.

Oh, I recognize that manga. I'd see the cover whenever it got updates. It looks simple, but cute and funny. I find it pretty funny that each new story had the line 'Her name is Nagine-san' on the last panel. I'd like to check this one out more later, after I go through a few other manga.

Hi everyone,

I hope someone finds the time to check it out, but my big recommendation is Planetes. It is a manga that is profound, mature, lighthearted and serious at the same time, grounded in reality yet very cerebral at times. The story telling is excellent, and has very deep moments that make you think, laugh or cry. The artwork is top notch.

Mizukami Satoshi (author of Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer, Sengoku Youko, and Spirit Circle) started his new manga recently.

Shows potential!

Fairy Tail: 3 Chapters Left

Oh shit the motion sickness plan worked. That was kinda dumb.

All the dragon slayers give their power to Natsu, and Lucy has everyone activate Fairy Sphere. Next chapter will be Natsu winning with Fire Dragon's Friendship Fist.

Also gosh Hiro...way too late to give Acnologia backstory. This manga will over in a month!

Promised Neverland: Song and Music. HA!

So Sung-Joo and Musica are both demons...but religious demons that don't eat people. Dat's pretty nice. Was kinda funny how the chapter opened. Had Ray be smart and deduce that their demons...and then mention how he can see demon feet. Gosh you'd think they'd hide those better.

Musica seems like a best girl, but I should wait. Nothing is as good as it seems in this manga.

Seven Deadly Sins: Something witty

Gowther with friends and Mel gonna fight Zel. Not sure why I'm commenting on this. Ban was cool I guess...though these demons really suck.

I'm finally getting around to catching up on Shingeki no Kyojin. Was reading it for a while, stopped, read it again, stopped again, etc. I stopped around the reveal about Gresha's death...that was a bit too heavy for me.

I do like the story, but the artstyle is a bit rough, and the content is...pretty harsh. We'll see if I wimp out again.

Thanks for the recommendation! I went ahead and read a couple of chapters. Yeah, the art style is really great. It's very detailed with great color pages, and the style is quite different from the norm, being more on the realistic side. It's a nice change of pace from what I've normally been reading. The setting is very interesting, focusing on space and astronauts. It's something new for me. Story telling is quite interesting. It feels episodic, with each chapter feeling like their own seperate stories focusing on certain characters. I'm not sure what sort of tone it's going for though, but that makes it interesting. At 1st, I felt a bit of horror, but then there was mystery and some humor in there. It's quite a fun read and I'm really enjoying it.

Some parts, such as the old veteran dying out in the middle of nowhere and Nono being a 12 year old lunarian, despite looking like an adult were memorable surprises to me.

I read this one too, and I really liked the artwork on this one. It's quite nice and cute. I'll be reading more of this one too.

I think I'm finally catching up to clearing out my manga backlog! Maybe now I can finally finish the Gamer! Also, I remember seeing the artwork for Shingeki. It did look quite rough. It didn't look as great as the anime.

Also, finally Tensei Shitara Ken got an update! It's nice to see more of the sword guy and the cute cat girl, but man, it showed the graphic side of the manga again. A bit brutal what happens to a character in the chapter, even if they caused the commotion themselves. Also...

I would agree. Although, Shingeki is one of those series where you can noticably see the author getting better at drawing
