We're in a strange world where GameSpot is the highest review.

On a better note, looks like most of the subpar reviews are all the tiny irrelevant reviews that pad out the metascore. Oh, and GamesRadar, who used to be king of reviews but in the past hear and a half has sunk to the cesspool.

Should probably end up right around SFV

That should dispel the silly notion that Gamespot somehow hates Nintendo and the Wii U.

They really have a problem with complicated Nintendo games. I mean, everything that's not a cakewalk is deducted a few points by them. I can't really find an example of the contrary xDDDDD.

And I'm really starting to feel that some Pokken reviewers haven't really finished the game, they're contradictory. Those which remark that they finish the game said that the last two/three trophies are kinda complicated.

Well it's always a case of "reviewer no like genre, reviewer give bad score" in GS's case. I was just making a joke about the state of affairs here.

It sounds like it's a good game with some actual problems worth considering, mostly with balancing the air game (there's no way to get out of air combos/attack while in the air after being hit, apparently). Which is about what I expected. Whether that justifies an aggregate score lower than an  incomplete competitor that came out a month prior is up to debate. In fighting game terms obviously SFV wins mechanically but not a single review seems to care about mechanics as much as what casual fans will think. That's the only real reason I'm questioning the reviews right now.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Gamespot always surprises me! They either give it very low compared to others, or quite high to others!

Quite disappointed with the scores so far........

There is 16 playable and 30 support in pairs of 2.

16 is better but theres so much wasted potential!

I guess their either:

- More DLC (Free or Paid) is coming!

- They want to start small so the sequel for the NX can have bigger roster. (How many fighters was in the first Super Smash game?) )

Because the high scores are huge pokemon fans, and anything pokemon is the best thing in the world (to them).

76 average? Good scores!

Reviewers are generally talking very well about the gameplay, and criticizing the lack of more Pokémon to choose, so I'd say that being Pokémon is what is deducting points for it, since they're complaining that with more than 700 Pokémon, 16 is not too much. Being part of that franchise is hurting the game, generally speaking.
