"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can. Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
Nathan Drake looks like if Richard Gere and Ted Cruz had a baby. These are awesome cutscenes. His hand does look weird whenever you can see it, but a Cruz/Gere baby would have puffy hands, so it's all good.

lots of darker detail is totally lost, the only positive I see is that actual black is not grey in the 2016 pic
The darker look makes sense, though. He's in a cave, so the "brighter" tone of the 2015 pic makes it look more unrealistic. That and the wall Drake is holding on to is a clear step above what it was before.
yea that is true, but I really hope the environments are adequately lit during gameplay, because nothing is more frustrating to me than not being able to see shit when playing a game
What do you mean by nothing wrong with differences? Sure, in-game models don't have to look the same as the ones in a cutscene. The problem is showing only the cutscene models and making people believe that's in-game. Could you link one of this videos?
But, if they only showed cutscene models, your point would hold air. But, that's incorrect.
As for gameplay:
Your stance is unfounded.
You have officially proved I'm 100% right. We only see cutscenes or in-game back view of drake in that footage. His in-game face only shows up from a distance, so we can conveniently not see the details. I wonder what's so hard about turning the character towards the camera during gameplay, if showing off graphics is what they want. Seriously, that's all it takes. Seems pretty clear they don't want people to see the difference between in-game models and cutscene ones.

But it's not more technically demanding than before. The rock does look like it got a better texture but overall it looks like the same scene with different lightning.

Nah, what I'm seeing here is you're choosing to believe what you want to believe.

You have no way of knowing that.
If he can't know it is not more demanding than before, why are people acting like it definitely is?

The Cutscenes are made with the same ingame engine as all Uncharted games, what are you trying to debate here?
