Well first off, I just can't imagine playing a Nintendo game on a non-Nintendo platform. The games just seem to be a perfect extension of the consoles themselves, and the idea of staring at a computer monitor and playing them with a keyboard really makes me cringe.
That said, I'm a huge PC gamer (if forced to pick I'd say I prefer the PC to consoles overall) and have just about finished upgrading said PC from the monster I built in 2010 that was beginning to show its age. I must confess that it's somewhat difficult to switch from the PC to the PS4 (I have little issue with the Wii U likely as its usually aiming for cartoonish graphics) as, lets be honest, the PS4 (and xbox1) are woefully underpowered.
In fact, when you look at manufacturing costs the PS4 is, adjusted for inflation, the cheapest console Sony has yet put out, and the Xbox1 is essentially in the same camp with additional costs being dedicated to the kinect. The Wii U, I think, warrants little discussion here, as it was already inexpensive despite a large portion of the cost being due to the gamepad as opposed to internal hardware.
I suppose what I'm saying is that I understand and agree with some of his complaints, as consoles have (perhaps due to a drop in expendable income) undeniably moved away from power in favor of affordability, which has probably been the #1 determining factor in who succeeds over the past two gens. The unfortunate consequence of this is that developers often aim much lower than they could have otherwise with a PC audience in order to work on the PS4/Xbox1, and I do wonder just how much that will limit the first gen of true VR games in the coming years.
Still, I don't want consoles to go anywhere as I do enjoy them and like having at least a few choices to work with and, overall, they have grown the industry enormously and so have provided us with far more games to choose from than we would otherwise have, not to mention developers like Nintendo have shown you don't need 4k resolution to make one hell of a fun game. Still, I sincerely hope they don't plan to stretch this gen out near the 8 year mark as they will be absolute fossils by then.
