Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto explains the changes made to Starfox since E3

Basically, they used the extra time to:

- Add the branching paths map system

- Improve the graphics

- Improve enemy AI/placement and the game's difficulty level

- Bring back Nova Bombs

No Krystal? smh

They sound like worthwhile improvements to me.

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

Nice to know. The game certainly improved since E3, and my favorite point he mentioned was probably the branching path.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

These are all very positive changes in my opinion. It's always nice to see Nintendo listening to its fans.

Fox hasn't met her yet.

All great changes, especially the branching paths.

Graphics do look a little better to me, but I hate the use of the bloom effect. That's one of my major issues with console games -- developers looove bloom, and they don't let you turn that shit off!

just someone trying to find a way to complain about the game

I recall you talking about the E3 trailer of the game, saying it looks horrible. I said the game would improve by then, and kept the thought in the back of my head.

Fast forward to now, what do you think? Are you satisfied with the game now?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Seems like the delay was a good idea then, I'm looking forward to seeing the game in action.

I really don't want to bring that here. I think I've made my case clear in other threads. I think the visual improvements from last E3 are barely noticable and that people are grossly exaggerating them, and I think that any gameplay improvements are completely unnoticable outside of the addition of nova bombs, which I didn't even expect to be left out come release.

I assumed since that E3 that the level structure wouldn't be linear, since this game is such an unabashed carbon copy of Star Fox 64, so I was actually unpleasently suprised to hear that this wasn't always the case. I never thought the game looked too easy or that the AI looked too dumb either, nor did I ever see a single comment complaining that the game looked too easy, so I don't really see the point in delaying the game to work on that, but whatever I guess.
