Forums - Gaming - Will No Man's Sky be this year's Evolve?

Evolve costed like 300dollars to get full experience. Was a DLC nightmare on a market (co-op multiplayer) where the price of admission is usually cheap.

LOL.... no, it didn't cost anywhere near $300 to get the full experience.

It's amazing how when a small ball of bullsh about a game gets rolling, it can turn into an avalanche on the Internet.

NMS looks really cool but it seems a bit boring to me hope i am wrong.

Own:Nes,Snes,N64,Gamecube,Wii,WiiU,Gameboy Pocket,Gameboy Advance SP,DS,DSi,3DS XL,Sega Genesis,Sega Dreamcast,PS1,PS2,PS3,PSP,PSVita and Xbox 360.

Looking to get: Original Xbox

A significant portion of my soul died with the first "SMT X FE" footage reveal.

Apples and oranges. Evolve was barely hyped and hated out of the box because it begged for preorders when they announced the game was starting development.

A better comparison would be Destiny. Hyped to deep space(no pun intended) only to massively, massively disappoint.

I'm itching to see if and how you'll defend the fucking trainwreck marketing by Take-Two and Turtle Rock.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

On the ps4 at least. I don't see it's hardware handling the game at a decent framerate.

People may think gamers are over hyping No Man's Sky.... But Uhm we've never had a game like this in this scale. So it makes perfect sense to me. I mean you show this game to a friend and they'll be like "holy shit... This game does that?"

I think this game is gonna sell amazing... And it's also worth that $60 price tag from what we've seen.

so no, it won't be even close to Evolve.

Does this mean NMS becomes some new sort of rule, where we are allowed to over hype it as much as we want but say a game like Star Citizen comes out and suddenly we're not allowed to, the same for Starbound (an early access title)?.

Value worth is subjective though when it comes to products and services (which was why I felt it was childish for someone to downvote me on the NMS article for saying my piece on the value of my money as you cnanot tell me directly on how to value or spend my own currency).

Also for what it's worth, the lack of being able to build and colonize in space does kill some of the hype for me and value, especially since I've been playing Starbound for nearly 2 years in early access and that game is absically what NMS is but in 2D that allows for building anywhere you want, creating your own colonies as well as upgrading and customizing your own ship.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

But the game isnt about building colonies and slowly branching out, its about reaching the center of the universe, that is the one single aim, everything else is leading up to that point... your not supposed to just sit on a single planet for 40 hours and mine... you could, but thats not the central point of the game. So it doesnt need to have things in about building colonies and home bases, your ship is your base.

Cool for you but for others like me that's not really much for a "goal" to aim for. Tagging things and doing what other games I've previously played isn't what I would call mind blowing and amazing. The fact other titles I've played offer the ability to do what NMS does and also allow for more options has always entertained me more than having less and trying to make one single small goal somehow better than all other options before it. My ship is also my base in Starbound as well as the other buildings I can create an inhabit as well as others I come across and even the dungeons too.

You are confirming my point... you are not interested in NMS because it doesnt have base building and thats fine, but as far as those people who are interested in it, we are not interested in base building, we are interested in the vision they have set out.

Not really, I am interested in NMS and intend to buy it but the lack of building a home or colonies makes each planet feel like a place to just visit, tag and move on. At least with Starbound I can mine different planets but shape them in ways of building upon them, turning them into personal colonies or just places to leave a mark on, the big aspect of NMS that I keep seeing a lot of is the tag system, tagging animals and planets, basically being a "witness" to self generated animals and planets but in a constant cycle with no end, even getting to the "centre" of the universe is more or elss being a witness to what is found there (which doesn't sound like it;s going to blow minds in the same way Minecraft had done as a whole.

Yeah that's cool that you are interested in an artistic vision (because exploration is something humans do and isn't really all that special but the way the devs are making it out to be sounds like it's trying to go for an artistic approach, but in the end it's nothing incredibly unique.

How do you know that? That's only what you think/believe but the reality once you play it might be something completely different. Personally, I'm going to be trying to uncover more of the lore, the languages and I'll be seeking out blueprints to improve my equipment.
