Evolve was "hyped up to be the greatest indie game"? Evolve, published by 2K Games, distributed by Take-Two, and developed by the studio who made Left 4 Dead?
Huh?

I don't see the direct connection between the two but yes i think No Man's Sky will be forgotten pretty quickly. I've read a few previews and there are major concerns about the fun factor(read boring) and lack of variation of the planets. The game's scale is impressive sure, but that alone doesn't make for a very interesting experience. I think it will end up being a niche title.
If Evolve is or was ever hyped up as an indie, then I'm the queen of Narnia. It was a AAA game.
And no, I anticipate No Man's Sky being quite successful. No it won't be a Call of Duty smash hit. But it will offer a unique experience. And it certainly doesn't suffer from the problem Evolve primarily did, that being a total dependence on a multiplayer community and an objective lack of content.

That perhaps shows how much the tepid response it received after launch has affected your memory.
Also, to the person who said that Evolve was in a saturated genre and No Man's Sky is not, I'm sorry but the survival sandbox genre is very much a saturated genre. The question here though isn't whether games are in saturated genres or what have you, it's whether No Man's Sky will be a good game (or at least as good as the hype might lead you to believe). I think lately the signals we are getting are at best mixed, but we'll see.
Both are different and Evolve fucked up in various ways. The one one part that I'm worried/irked about with NMS is the lack of PC footage and early benches.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

That was me. Maybe I have the wrong idea about No Man's sky and it's nothing like Elite Dangerous: Horizons.
Waiting for reviews anyway, it costs $80 here. It better be good.
What's up with these games lately, The Witness $60, Plants vs Zombies GW2 $80, my backlog is getting a chance.
it was a AAA shooter in a saturated market that committed suicide with dodgy as hell preorder and dlc practices
Clearly you nothing about Evolve. First of all, it wasn't an indie game. It was developed by the guys who made Left 4 Dead 2 and published by Take-Two. Secondly, Evolve's biggest problems came from its DLC implementation, not by most of the stuff you fabricated.
There's a universe literally separating those games. How you say they're similar is beyond me.
