I don't see the direct connection between the two but yes i think No Man's Sky will be forgotten pretty quickly. I've read a few previews and there are major concerns about the fun factor(read boring) and lack of variation of the planets. The game's scale is impressive sure, but that alone doesn't make for a very interesting experience. I think it will end up being a niche title.
