Forums - Nintendo - Who else reckons Colour Splash looks pretty?

I'm actually surprised. It looks a little toned down. Not as bright and colorful as it could look. I almost think Super Paper Mario looks better.

This is a very primitive version of the game that seems to cover about the first 10 minutes of it, it will look better and better with every trailer as always.

Now that you mention it - it does look darker than what a Mario game usually looks.

Not that its a problem with me - just surprising - wonder if it has to do with the storyline or just the art direction specifically for the game itself.

It's very weird though. Never thought a Mario game would look very different just because the colors are a tad bit darker

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Looks gorgeous! So many of Nintendo's Wii U games do though. I love their art style.

It didn't impress me unfortunately

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Graphically, the game looks amazing.

Unfortunately, that's the only good thing I can say about the game. (based off my first impressions.)

I do think it look graphically fantastic, although the colours are a bit drab for a game calling itself "Colour Splash". It could've went a bit more Splatoon in its aesthetic.

Definitely looks great.

It really looks good. Certainly one of the best looking Wii U games from what I've seen.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Who cares about the graphics if the gameplay is terrible.

Clearly the same Nintendo fans that pointed last gen on the Wii how gameplay must be over graphics always.

It looks great and fun to play and isn't that the point? aren't games supposed to be.. fun?. the Overreaction is so silly.

That's the problem.  It doesn't look fun to a lot of people.

Colors kinda muted though.

They're not "muted", they're pastel. Gives a more "natural" feel over bright colours, which look more cartoony. Note that this isn't equivalent to the "mature" grey-and-brown idiocy of last generation.

Why the hell would you go for a "natural" feel in a Paper MARIO game?  It's paper.  it's Mario.  It's about freaking COLORS.  It should be absolutely bursting with color.
