In what time frame? It should be well on its way to that.

Lifetime.
| LudicrousSpeed said: I would say the exact same thing I said in the many many threads about Tomb Raiders poor sales. 1. I am sure Capcom at least had some expectations of poorer sales. 2. Sony money makes this not a normal situation. So we'll never really know how Capcom truly feels about it. Considering Sony is still committed to funding prize pools for SF tournaments or whatever, in the end, Capcom could still be perfectly ok with the situation. They still see the game as an evolving service, and expect the game to have legs. Whether that turns out to be true or not, is anybodies guess. As for the question in the OP, it's just deserts. Can't short change gamers like that. I did not buy, because it was clearly not worth $60 to me. I'll buy down the line when the Super Ultra Arcade version is out, or at least the equivalent update if they stick to their guns about never ever ever releasing another version of SFV. Like I said in another thread, I hope this doesn't put the future of other Capcom fighters in jeopardy. You could have a situation like Sony with SOCOM where they look at disappointing reviews and lower than expected sales and assume the fanbase has moved on, rather than taking the blame themselves for releasing games that were not up to par. I might be wrong here but I don't think it sells well in the US debut, either. I merchandise at retailers all over a big market and I see shelves loaded with copies all the time. And I don't think Capcom is in that much trouble that they'd have to sell to someone. But if they did I would hope Nintendo would snatch them up. I think they'd do an amazing job with some of their franchises, much more so than MicroSony would. With MicroSony, Mega Man would become a CoD style FPS and RE would become a cinematic bore. Imho anyway. |
The problem is that if the sales continue this way, they'll have to rely on another moneyhat for another entry.
Additionally, in the future, SF market share on Xbox will probably go down and it will directly compete with KI.
Thats like... laughably low expectations for a Street Fighter title.
They should be exceedingly happy with its sales numbers then.

Well if they are happy with it, then fair enough.
due to lack of content?
Lol at the people keep repeating on forums that Capcom wouldn't have made SF5 without Sony, a sequel to the most popular fighting game ever. It would come, just not as fast.
Also off topic but Sony's 3rd party deals have sucked mostly. Destiny was a bad game, same with SW Battlefront, all had content issues as well.

I didn't think Xbox was the hottest platform for fighters... I know I never felt like the dpad or face buttons were suited to it on my 360. I honestly think the sales difference would be marginal. |
While Playstation has been more popular with that genre, Xbox still has a lot of fighting fans.
I think its worth noting MKX had a better opening on X1 than SFV.

I find it a bit weird that Capcom expect only 2 million sold. MKX did more than that on the PS4 alone...

By the end of their fiscal year, so March 31, 2016.

It's by the end of their current fiscal year, not lifetime.
