Metroid Prime Federation Force has quickly gained a sizeable hatedom. From its announcement on E3 2015, the game has suffered constant waves of hate, and it's quickly becoming a joke amongst Nintendo fans. I think it looks ok, but it would have been better on the WiiU. However, there's a big difference between hate and apathy. Codename Steam was released on march 13th 2015, and has not reached the 0.2m units sold yet. People didn't actively hate or dislike the game, they either just ignore it or didn't know it existed. 

What will sell more, the game everybody hates or the game everybody ignores? Federation Force or Codename S.T.E.A.M.?

Well by virtue of more people knowing about it because of the hate I'll go with FF.
Oh and trust me, YouTube comments are the worst. There's no such thing as " too pessimistic" for them.

I don't know, I'll almost certain buy Federation Force. It looks fun to me, though there are many, many obvious flaws in the game. Like the characters being slow as fuck (which I get in Metroid games because of the atmosphere and the sense of exploration, but this game should be faster) and the awful art style. This game born doomed because of the hype for a new Metroid game, and the over-the-top hate imo, but it should manage to sell more because Metroid franchise is obviously way more popular. But it'll be the worst selling Metroid ever, I'm certain of that.

Yeah I don't understand the childish hate it's receiving. Sure it's dissapointing if you were after a traditional metroid but it could still be an enjoyable game.
Despite the haters it will probably still sell more than steam, on brand name alone.

Federation Force has the Metroid name on it, so that alone will probably make it outsell S.T.E.A.M.

Oh nice comparison. Even though people actively hate FF I still think it will sell more due to the far reaching talk about it. All the hate is essentially free advertising. And eventually people will buy it simply to try how bad (or good it really is).

Federation Force. There's a ton of people anticipating it that actually think rationally and will get it. Also the name will help sell it.
