Stage Adjustments:

Object placement in Regular Battle for the following stages will be changed to match that in Splat Zones.

Arowana Mall

Moray Towers

 

Matchmaking and Team Assignment Adjustments:

Until now, team assignments in Ranked Battle were completely random, but some consideration will now be given to equipped weapons when assigning teams.

Ranked Battle Matchmaking will be changed so that players of the following ranks are not matched together.

S+ and S

S and A+

A- and B+

B- and C+

This change may be subject to further adjustment depending on changes to matchmaking times that occur as a result.

 

Changes to Rank Points:

During Ranked Battles, when a team plays at a disadvantage due to unavoidable issues such as teammates being disconnected, and then loses, the winning team’s points will be decreased by an amount proportional to the time they benefited from the above conditions.

 

Gear Ability Adjustments:

Adjustments have been made to the efficacy of certain Gear Abilities.

 

Inksaver Main : Saves 5% more ink ( 40 - 45 )

Inksaver Sub: Saves 10% more ink (  25 - 35 )  

Ink Recovery: from 67% to 82%

^^^^^^^^ THESE ARE UPPER LIMITS MEANING ITS MAXIMUM CAP IS RAISED ^^^^^^^^

 

Special Duration Up

-Inkzooka and Bomb Rush upper limit can now be increased by 60% (previously 40%)

-Inkstrike and Killer Wail, recovery decreased on top of special duration increase

 

Opening Gambit

-Runspeed/Swimspeed increased further 30% for Main slots only, doesn't effect subs

 

Last Ditch Effort

-Works in overtime

-Gives you Quickrespawn effects

 

Tenacity

-Rises 20% faster during effect

 

Comeback

-All preivous effects + You build special faster 

 

Haunt

-Still marks

-Gives you an Attack/Defense/Runspeed boost on respawn (DOES NOT SPECIFY HOW LONG)

 

Recon

- Effect lasts 3.5 seconds after leaving spawn

- Now shows opponents weapons on minimap as well

 

Bomb Sniffer

-Reduces damage from bombs, each specifically.

Burst Bombs = 20%

The rest = 40%

 

Splatfest Changes:

During Splatfests what was previously the Vibe Meter will now display your Splatfest Power.

Initial Splatfest Power level depends upon your current Ranked Battle rank.

Splatfest Power level will change depending on wins or losses during Splatfest Battles.

The player with the highest Splatfest Power on the winning team will receive a slightly larger boost to their Splatfest Power than their teammates after the match.

Until now, Splatfest matchmaking favored grouping players with similar play styles. Players will now be more likely to play with those of similar Splatfest Power level.

The higher a team’s average Splatfest Power level, the more Splatfest Points they will earn after winning.

All these changes are good, especially the buff to Killer Wail and Inkstrike reducing their end lag. Makes mah Slosher so happy! Also I now really need to stop procrastinating on making that Comeback + Haunt + all the Quick Respawn build for my Custom Dual Squelcher!



What is splatfest power?



I know... my English sucks.

I love the buffs to the gear, the inkstrike and the killer wail (disruptors + killer wail for the win!!!)



                                                                                     

Overall a good balance patch. The only thing I really hope for is some more weapon sets. Oh and a second Amiibo set that includes the slightly tweaked sets. Replica Splattershot would be awesome with a scope.

Basically Splatfest are gonna be Ranked Turf War. It's good overall but kinda sucks that I can't just use whatever weapon I feel like and still have a good chance of winning.

Yes, Finally they reduce the recovery of my Killer Wail.

All I need is the Kelp scope to get buffed in the balance patch(I have a feeling a nerf is coming for its half charge shots).

 

Definitely no buff especially since both Splat Chargers will have had their specials buffed already, but no nerf either since E-Liters are still way more prevalent.

Hopefully Arowana Mall is split into 2 zones because that would be really fun

Wonder if you can form squads in Splatfests... would be nice

Oh turns out I misunderstood the Inkstrike/Wail buff. It isn't inherent, that's just the effect special duration has on them now. Welp that's unfortunate. =/



Seems al good to me, does the last part mean that the less popular team will now be losing too ?
