What does this even mean?

Call me old but I can only play online or local.  Not both at the same time.  Do they men like split screen online mulitplayer.  Where you and a friend are playing online with each other but sitting on the same couch? 

I read that as local multiplayer between the home and handheld versions of NX, while also being able to play online.

But who knows.

Closest thing I could think of is MH3U - where you had local/online multiplayer between 3DS and WiiU. Except this time the handheld can play online by itself.

That's funny because this is the same guy who leaked the NX rumor with the bluetooth functionality, and people were interpreting that as a single hybrid console in that thread.

Well, an hybrid console could also fit into that, with two people playing locally with two NX devices, like 3DS work today.

But if I'm honest, I haven't really payed a lot of attention nor thought about it. I don't get anything doing that except creating expectations that probably won't be met or getting worried about things that, again, probably won't happen.

Yeah, that's more or less what I was thinking, local multiplayer with one playing on the TV with the home console and the other one playing with the handheld.

It's the Activision, EA - gaming audience the Nintendo indeed hopes to attract in the NX. We know it failed with the WiiU - but that doesn't mean Nintendo shouldn't and couldn't try again.

Really fascinating rumor.
We should know within a few months about the next CoD. If it is indeed Bloodlines - that may prove the rest of the rumor true.

I don't know if this rumor is based on fact, but I have no doubt whatsoever that Nintendo is targeting the western console market, core gamers and third parties with NX. They've said as much repeatedly, siting their failure to cater to the western tastes in the western dominated console market, etc. Nintendo needs third parties to truly succeed, and I think NX is going to attempt to right the wrongs of Wii U. We'll see if it can.

Not that I don't believe you, even though I don't believe you, but when did Nintendo themselves ever attribute any part of their recent failings specifically to not catering to western tastes?

I mean, I've been saying that, and other people online have said that, but I've been following Nintendo statements like a hawk for years and I've never seen them actually say it.

Why would a Spider-man game be called "The First Avenger" O_o... Spider-man was not the first Avenger in any way shape or form. In the comics he became an avenger like 40 years after the team was formed, and in the movie universe he's joining three movies in. Also, "The First Avenger" moniker is already attributed to Captain America. Sounds odd.
