I don't know if this rumor is based on fact, but I have no doubt whatsoever that Nintendo is targeting the western console market, core gamers and third parties with NX. They've said as much repeatedly, siting their failure to cater to the western tastes in the western dominated console market, etc. Nintendo needs third parties to truly succeed, and I think NX is going to attempt to right the wrongs of Wii U. We'll see if it can.
