Forums - Website Topics - What do the "Others"-Regions include? - Insert a description

Hello there. I am writing on my diploma thesis and I am quite happy that i´ve found this site.

But I must ask a question, which is a suggestion too.

It´s quite difficult to analyse Hardware sales, when there is noch description of all the "Others"-Regions.

A list oder description of the Other-Regions is definitely a must.

So. What do the "Other-Regions" include?

Thank you very much.

Best regards from germany

Europe, Africa, Oceania, small Asian markets. You can see a breakdown of Others by region here:

http://vgchartz.com/ehweekly.php

That's for last week, but it has totals too. It only discriminates the biggest regions though, the rest are lumped under "Other".

Thanks for the fast information. Seems to me I am a bit slow on thoughts today.

Just in detail....I am on the hardware table section under Chartz.

Other Europe is quite clear....seems to me it might include eastern europe and so on. So the western european regions (Germany, UK, etc.)  including other europe are Europe. clear.

The "Other" below Australia is Oceania and possibly other small asian markets in the region downunder. Right?

What is left, is Total other. Do I get this right, that Total Others is the sum of all "Other-Regions"?

I already read that Canada is a part of America...read somewhere 5% to 10% percent.

Africa? which "Other" is that? Or which "Other" does it include?

I do have to ask because I have a study from PWC concerning hardware unit sales except handhelds and would like to compare those numbers with the numbers here. PWC follows the regional concept America, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Latinamerica, Canada and Asia&Pacific.

Oh my god. Never thought that console sales are that difficult.....why to hell is neither of the big players dividing software and hardware sales revenues...except nintendo. Anyone knows a good source for that? Or a source of average prices for console types each year?

2 Month to go....grrr....I panic.

I can't help you but good luck with the Thesis all the same.

I think New Zealand is included in Australia (no matter how stupid it sounds... Portugal is also included in Spain according to ioi, but he didn't change it to Iberia or some other correct name).

Canada is not in Others but in North America as you said.

Africa, Middle East and the small Asian markets should be included in Others->Other (just below Australia).

The continent of America is in America, Europe, Africa, Asian except Japan, and Oceania are in Others.
