I understand Microsoft going windows only will damage their software potential as they miss out on Steam. But why.

Why do certain pc gamers decide not to buy games they want and like just because it's not on Steam. Does it really matter to them? I just don't get the reasoning behind this. Isn't the whole point of building a pc the fact that you have multiple options and are not locked down to any one thing. So why when it Comes to where you buy your game from does it have to be steam? Genuinely interested to know.

myself and many of my friends consider a game NOT being on steam as a huge positive for it. We HATE being locked into to an extremely restrictive and closed system, basically they have divorced you from and OS which you control and put you into a walled garden where you are completely at their mercy. I can understand this approach on a console but I hate how popular steam has become forcing so many games to move into their lockin,.

I really don't know what to say anymore, but this is the wrong move. As each day passes I and many other xbox one owners are feeling second class customers.

Why are you feeling that way?

Har Har Har. Look whos trying to be funny. Why don't you crawl away and invest your jokes as commentary for your Pokemon Yellow playthrough?

Dayum sons - Looks like I struck a nerve l0l.

You know I'm right though ;)

I'm not really mad, mind you. I just been thinking about stealthily suggest that you should add commentary to your vids and this seemed like a good chance.

Sounds more like The Windows Store on Windows 10 especially since you need Windows 10 in order to play the games and you dont even have the freedom to modify the files (i.e. for modding purposes). Sounds more restrictive than any other DRM imo.

Also Steam/Valve isnt forcing anyone to release games on their platform - the publishers are doing that themselves because majority of PC gamers are on Steam and they know thats where the money is but that doesnt mean they are forced to release it on Steam otherwise other DDs like GOG would have closed down long time ago.

MS is doing this to promote windows 10 which is fine. But those specs are bloated as hell though - possibly to scare people away from abandoning the Xbox One considering with specs like Quantum Break - you would need to invest a bit more than with an actual decent gaming PC and a Xbox One would still be cheaper to purchase.

A double edged sword in other words. Works for everyone though - PC gamers and Xbox One gamers.

I don't even know where he got that idea from. Especially since Steam allows for modding which MS hates, they also support other OS's while MS doesn't. Out of all this MS is more of a walled garden than Steam is ever likely to be.

I never claimed the windows store was better. I want to purchase my games for the platform I choose and not be locked into a walled garden. I have suffered too many times through steam over the years. locked out of my supposed offline copy of civilization because I had no internet connection due to a steam bug. Forced repackaging of working local games without the option of saying no or do it later. I like old school games where if a game isn't online it should have ZERO requirement for any online service, that includes ANY store tie in, especially steam.

feel sad about the XBox brand, which exclusives aren't going to be ported to PC?
better to build a PC and sell my XBox. Just bought it a week ago.

Did you really just buy an Xbox One?  Not trying to doubt you but you never know these days on the interwebs.

A

yes. XBOX One Elite with the Forza Horizon 2 digital code. just bought MCC game last Sunday.  My primary reason to buy XBOX is to play with my younger bro (late 20s) especially on Fifa.  I'm a proud owner of all consoles this gen.  The latest additions is X1 and PSV.  But my library on PS4 and WiiU is already getting big, so X1 would be more for exclusives and pick versions which my younger bro would play as well.

add me up - gabszjmm23 if you want to.

It´s better if they do like what they have done for other games: if you buy the X1 version, you get the PC edition for free

Is more people having access to MS games hurting your ability to enjoy Xbox?

I think all these games coming to Xbox is fine, as I've said before the most popular games on consoles are generally on PC already.

Also, this is limited to Windows 10. So that forces people to either use Windows 10 (Windows Store) or Xbox. It ain't coming to Steam.

it is not just about more people having access to games.  but getting exclusives to a console is what it is unique for gamers.  But I know there are people who wanted to have a single console and all the games they like are available to that console.

I don't know. MS seems like it's competing with itself on this one. It seems to me like they are trying to push console gamers to become PC gamers, which more than likely won't happen, imo.
