Forums - Sony - Sony Sees The End Of Smartphones

It's not just about browsing and wasting time that makes a smartphone so useful. I use it to track my workouts using Jefit, I use it to find food places when I'm in a new area or just not sure where a certain place is, use it to find faster routes, it lets me know when an accident happened before I leave for work, it reroutes me around traffic, I use it as my podcast and mp3 player and phone all through my cars bluetooth, use it as  a camera and video recorder for those special nights with my lady, and soon I'll be using it to communicate with my home automation system to turn on lights, open the garage, and turn on the TV and reciever once I'm about to exit the highway and be home.

If they think they are about to come out with a product to replace all of that cool I'm ready.

I suppose I never relied on it as much as you and that's why I feel that way. Outside of GPS and the ability to call for help in a wreck or some other emergency, I really don't rely on it for anything. Maybe a calculator? For me, it was all about social networks, playing little ios games, texting etc. It was a portable entertainment device and that's why for me anyway, it's gotten old. I suppose if you have come to rely on it to manage your entire life, like you have, then yeah, I can see why people aren't going to let go.

Yea it's just become so useful for me I can't imagine going back. I remember once when I broke up with my long time GF I tried to go back to a flip phone and it was the worst mistake I've ever made in my life. I didnt  realize how many women are ready to send you nude pics of themselves once you start talking to them and I missed out on so many with that damn cheap phone. After about the third girl asking me if I got her pic I got rid of it and went right back to a smartphone.

It's the opposite for me I send women nude pics of me and get money sent to me to help me  buy a basic phone.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

People are definitely getting somewhat tired of smartphones because they just lack innovation. Besides a few tech nerds, no one is impressed by some octa-core or a gazillion gigabytes of RAM. But until someone comes up with the next big thing, smartphones are here to stay. We won't see big growth though, especially not in the west. New markets can only compensate losses in the west for so long.

I honestly don't know what could come after smartphones. And even if I would, I wouldn't talk about it on some internet forum. I would patent that idea, sell it to Apple or something and get rich as fuck! xD

This is just a polite way of saying that they can't compete with Samsung and Apple.
