I haven't played my 3DS in a year and never carry it around anywhere, because I probably won't have time to play it anyways. Also lack of Achievements doesn't make me want to play it. The nerd factor also plays a role.

Then the Pokemon hype train hit me. Hearing about this Mew code that I knew nothing about or what it was or what it did. I'm still stuck on this new-found Skylander craze that Ganoncrotch put me on to. 😒 The rarity of this Mew code has changed my focus. I must have this code and during one of my Skylander finding expeditions at a Gamestop, I so happened to ask the employee if they had any Mew codes. He said No, but they'll be getting some tomorrow during Pokemon day, along with the release of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow.

My mind went into overload. I did some research online to see what these games are. I never really was into Pokemon. Then some bitches on some forum I frequently go to helped me figure out which one I should start out with to help me get into Pokemon. 😄

The next day I went back to that Gamestop to pick up my code. Decided to bring my 3DS with me, just in case I buy the Yellow code at Gamestop and want to install it. I took one of my women with me and ask them if she could have one too. They gave her one too. Decided not to pick up the code for Yellow and just download it when I get home.

We make a stop at a makeup place and I reach into my pocket to grab my phone. It's in the same pocket as my 3DS. What the hell is the green light on my 3DS? I take it out and open it up. There's a girl Mii that I picked up in the Ulta store.

We then head over to a Barnes and Noble and then I check my 3DS again. I got another green light. I got two more hits. So I walk around the store more, making sure I pass by every person. During our stay I probably got 5 hits.

The next day, I start feeling antsy. I need to walk around and get more hits. Finally around 6pm, I can't take it anymore and head to a BestBuy. The instant I walk in, my 3DS goes into overload. I got 9 hits at one time. This is nerd central. I'm in heaven. I know where I need to go every day. 😎

On my way home, I drive by a Taco Bell and get one final hit going through the drive-thru.

Now I know why there were so many people carrying around their 3DSes at Katsucon a few weeks back. I'm so mad thinking about it right now.

Anyone else addicted to StreetPass? What other good spots can get good hits?

Lucky, your Best Buy probably has a Nintendo Zone! For the most part I'd have to go out of my way to get to one, which I don't do just for streetpass. :L

Ah yes the 3DS. I wish I still had it. Anyway check places with that's a StreetPass relay. I forget where they are. I also used to find them whenever I was in my local library or Barnes & Noble. You also get to use the miis that you get from others in mini games in Mii plaza.

When I first got mine I liked the idea, but went weeks between ever running into anyone. I went on business trip to New York City and went to the Nintendo store and got 50+ that day, but then went back to roughly one a month and gave up on it. Neat idea, but varies massively based on location.

Yep. I always carry my 3ds around when going to/coming from work and I check it every day at home.

In my city the best place to get hits are the subway stations that interconnect different lines - there are only four of them in my city - as I need to pass through at least two of them every day (in the morning and in the evening), and they are always overcrowded so I always get a few hits.

Apart from that, there aren´t good spots for streetpass in my city. There´s a japanese district in downtown, it´s always full of people but most of them are tourists, not geeks or videogame fans.

Streetpass is pretty helpful in many games! In RPGs like shin megami tensei is a great way to recrute monsters, in Pokemon X/Y it allows me to get lots of caramels, and raise the level of my pokemon fast, in Animal Crossing I was able to complete several itens collections by buying them through streetpass visitors. Very helpful.

What is a Nintendo Zone and what does it do?

...So that's how you see us xD

Anyways, yeah, this was a serious issue when I was living in Japan. I took that thing everywhere and checked it often. It's so easy to get passes there, your plaza gets into the 100s and even 1000s. I was hoping to get to 9999, but I had to leave eventually and failed to reach this goal ;_;

I used to use Streetpass a lot even with Mii Plaza, but I haven't really been using it much.

Still use it occasionally but definitely not as frequent

Now I actually feel more excited to visit new places to see if I can get different states and countries. The subway would be a good one. Especially in DC with all the crowds.

How does StreetPass work on games? Will the game have to be loaded in the cart slot and be in sleep mode?

I noticed that after trying to welcome the new miis. It said I will not be able to play games with my first guest if I welcome them. Then I noticed some rabbit holes and it said I could buy more games to play with the miis. So I bought the bundle. Then played those games with my second group of miis.

I messed up with my third group, because I did the update for Mii plaza and it didn't warn me that I would loose the ability to play with my current group if I did the update. I lost 10 Miis and potential pink puzzle pieces. 😢 The update gave me two more games that I bought.

Now I'm ready for some serious StreetPassing... 😛
