scandalous!

Not sure how they can come back from this pickle!

How they can come back!? They still will make solid profit despite Wii U is selling terrible and 3DS is in decline, and they yet need to release mobile games and new platform.

Yes, look at the release schedule during that period.

Xenoblade 3D, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Happy Home Designer, Chibi-Robo, Woolly World, Triforce Heroes, Super Mystery Dungeon, Ultra Smash, Amiibo Festival, Xenoblade X, Paper Jam, Fire Emblem, Twilight Princess HD, Hyrule Warriors Legends, Rhythm Heaven, Girls Mode 3.

I might be missing some but those are the retail games by Nintendo released or set to release this fiscal year, this isn't including the dozen or so digital only releases either.

Pokkén Tournament also coming in current fiscal year, 18. March.

Any of those games sell Wii Us? Have people outside of the Nintendo bubble even heard of those games?

Nobody knows about Splatoon, or Mario Maker, or AC: HHD, or Zelda, or Pokémon, or Fire Emblem.

Hint: It´s always bad with Nintendo. Because Nintendo is dooooomed!

Now seriously, I think they´ll be more than fine. There are plenty of 3ds games that will sell a lot, more wii u games, mobile games, amiibo, NX... there´s the new pokemon game coming!

I'm not entirely convinced an exclusive GTA VI could sell the Wii U. At a certain point the hardware sales stop mattering as much as the software sales. I'd spoil your fun and point out that that's very early on with all consoles because a large install base ends up hurting some software long term, but let's ignore that for now. When a new IP sells 5 million, which Splatoon almost certainly will at this point, that's wonderful - people would kill for those numbers. When that same game is selling like hotcakes in Japan, on a console? That's nuts. On the Wii U that's even more ridiculous. When MK8 has, what is it now, 7 million? That's wonderful. Nintendo's still looking like it's in the black despite poor hardware sales and now an exchange rate cut for the rest of the fiscal year, and that means they're doing something right.

So TLDR, stop being so pessimistic in this thread. Nintendo has been in a bad spot for years and that's not new info to any of us here. All your antagonism does is make you look upset about something more than Nintendo having a crappy little console that will become Dreamcast-tier beloved in three years, and I'm certain none of us want to see that in a thread where it doesn't really belong, with all due respect.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Poor hardware sales in the game business always leave you at the mercy of things like currency swings. It is what it is.

Been a nightmare of a generation for Nintendo, a tsunami and nuclear meltdown literally greeted the 3DS launch, both Mr. Yamauchi and even more sadly Mr. Iwata are gone, hardware sales are hitting all time lows which is holding back software sales, virtual near abandonment from third parties, complete collapse of their console biz etc. etc.

It really has been a staggeringly bad 5 year stretch for Nintendo. Unimaginable pretty much.

I'm sure Pokemon Go alone is going to bring enough sweet sweet cash to Nintendo. They really needed to make the Pokemon Direct longer to talk about it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

People know about Mario, Zelda and Pokemon in general, but not the low-effort spinoffs Nintendo did for them this year.

Transitional period for Nintendo results in low financial forecast...well knock me down with a feather.
