Stop stealing Iraq's oil, and leave.

Where can I get in on this apparent stolen oil? Cause the current gas prices are killing me.

I hate people like you, not only are you implying we should kill countless innocents but you also are woefully ignorant of that which you are talking about. Hydrogen bombs wouldn't leave buildings intact. I believe you meant a neutron bomb.

The area which makes up Iraq was peaceful for centuries under the Ottoman Empire and these three areas have only been held together by force since.

Breaking them appart is best option. Then they can have real wars instead of civil wars. And when they have real wars we can sell them weapons and make a lot of money.

It's the captain's mess. Let him clean it up.

This is a very serious situation Bush has got us in for sure. If we leave, we all know that the government that is now set up will just be overrun. If we split them apart you're just going to cause civil war over the oil on the land. I think the best thing to do might be to make Iraq a territory of the US.

Iraq dosen't even produce that much oil compared to Saudi Araiba or Iran.
It's not like I think Bush was planning to definitly invade iran. Just that he thought it was very likely that we would have to within the next 15 years.
Hence having a stable and US friendly Iraq would be helpful. Of course that doesn't explain why they put into power a Pro-Iran government.
Honestly the more i look at the situation the more I can't understand why we went in... at all. Which is pretty bad, because i thought it was a bad idea in the first place back when the congress and a lot of people were for it.

Can you really blame Bush for wanting to stick his fingers in the Dike's hole? I know I would want to stick my finger in a dike.
Since Bush created this mess, lets make him the President of Iraq and let him fix it and we can have Obama start a year early over here.

Alright let me put out a quick statement as to why separating them into states is the last thing we could possibly want.
Problem 1. Kurdistan.
One of the three states (the Northernmost) would be Kurd dominated, the problem is that there are also a large number of Kurds in neighbouring parts of Iran and Turkey, once one part of 'Kurdistan' comes into being you can bet anything there will be some form of rebellion from a portion of the Kurds in Iran and Turkey. Basically there would be civil wars in two countries, one of which is the only Arab country that actually really friendly towards the west in the Middle East.
Problem 2. Shia-Sunni tensions.
These two cultures are hardly friendly, splitting them into two religiously divided states, the Shia one of which would be heavily backed by neighbouring Iran, could potentially start a devastating war.
Basically the status quo, while pretty terrible, is going to have to be maintained. The US is going to have to stay in the mess its in until the Iraqi government can successfully control their own country. Leaving would be bad and the splitting the country is the worst possible case.
