It's not like I think Bush was planning to definitly invade iran. Just that he thought it was very likely that we would have to within the next 15 years.
Hence having a stable and US friendly Iraq would be helpful. Of course that doesn't explain why they put into power a Pro-Iran government.
Honestly the more i look at the situation the more I can't understand why we went in... at all. Which is pretty bad, because i thought it was a bad idea in the first place back when the congress and a lot of people were for it.
