I honestly couldn't imagine it'd be any easier than getting something to work on Wii U with no second screen support.

It´s really fun how some people chooses to forget about this sentence he says: "And just to be clear, it's not just Nintendo, every hardware manufacturer is treating their devkits and their unreleased consoles like they're the second coming and are insanely secretive about it to a stupid degree in todays time." Just because it doesnt fit with what they want to hear xD
It's complicated, I think they are partially right about hardware manufacturers being a bit supid with their secretism because some developers cannot work for them but at the same time is totally normal, if Nintendo gives that kind of information to every indie developer interested then those secrets would get leaked very soon.

This is pretty much my opinion on this, while it's true that Ori and the Blind forest was a success the guy has far less to lose when signing and breaking an NDA than the likes of Activision or EA, and in benefit for Nintendo of bringing in these devs who like others have said, have never even created a game for any Nintendo console then what the indies here are asking for is just idiotic, I love indie games at times, but these guys have to understand that they are just not in the same league as the big developers.

Nintendo don't make a machine like Sony or Microsoft, they think différentes things and create a concept, this is their Strength... Leaks are more consequense for them..

This!
I understand the importance of having enough time to make a good game, but two years in hardware is too much. The hardware wont be as cutting edge by that time.
What I can see working, is the platform holders giving them an idea of the architecture they are going to use. A sort of minimum system specs which software is sure to work on the actual thing come launch day, but doesn't represent the final specs of the system. For the PS4 as an example, Sony could have told them they were going for a system with an AMD processor at least as powerful as a mid range bobcat (which were available since 2011) and a mid to low range GCN based card (first available January 2012). Of course the PS4 would end being more powerful than that but it at least gives devs a place to start as soon as possible.

Love how people extend this article from a 3rd party indie developer that is talking about all 3 manufacturers... BUT NX!!!
Yeah...

Yeah, I remarked that before but it seems it doesn't matter at all xDDDD. The question is I don't think Nintendo is being obscure about NX especifications just because of horsepower, maybe there's a new concept there (new ways of playing, for example) that they want to keep secret to avoid copying.

But who do you think he is refering to?
The 8th gen started years ago, they have developed games for this gen and i dont think they are shitting on Microsoft with that statement, so who do you think they are talking to?
As far as i know, there are no Ps5 and Xbox 2 Dev Kits on the wild, maybe he is refering to someone else besides Ms and Sony?
On the other hand, arent you Nintendo fans the ones most interested in a leak of ANYTHING? Because this site is flooded with NX threads out of thin air news, so i think it would be a good thing that for the fisrt time since Iwata mentioned a new console, the Nintendo fans would talk about it with basement instead of grasping for anything that comes out of the web.

Nah, that would spoil all the fun we're having :P. It's obvious he's referring to MS and Sony, obviously he doesn't refer to the Ouya manufacturer. And these statements were said before about the three of them, coming from some indie developers. I remember a discussion about getting some dev kids from a random guy who wants to make a game for PS3/360 and it was impossible for him to start working on the game, can't remember the name though. This is a standard in the industry, so I find funny that everyone's blaming Nintendo for a common practice.
As for the PS4/One, I think indie developers could get a dev kit from July the year it was released. So I think that when we know everything about the NX (which will be probably on the E3) indie developers could get their dev kit as usual.
