So... Nintendo will put Wii Uless Zelda fans in a situation where they can either buy a dead console that they're no longer really supporting, and make them less likely to buy the console they're counting on to help the company make a comeback.

Should they do that, or should they release the game on both systems, allow Wii U owners to play the game they've been waiting for, and provide an incentive for Zelda fans who didn't buy the Wii U to get on board with their new console?

If Nintendo chooses not to release the game on both systems (assuming there is not some hardware reason that it couldn't be done) then I would suggest that anyone with Nintendo stock should sell it, because that would be a bafflingly moronic strategy.

The system might not even release this year, which pretty much destroys this point. Also, Skyward Sword released under similar conditions to great success.

So I'd say keep your stock, because if you only bought stock to see how much of a rise the stock would gain when they announce Zelda U on NX it was a bafflingly moronic move in the first place.

Calling Skyward sword a bigs success is pushing it.  And, Skyward Sword launched on a wildly popular console with nearly 100 million units sold.  The system already had a new(ish) Zelda game that sold like gangbusters.  So releasing it on the Wii U wouldn't have had much of an impact on system sales, because if you were a Zelda fan you could already play it on a console you most likely owned.  Plus, the Wii U's selling point was the gamepad, which would make having a launch title focused on the Wiimote a little off.

The situation is actually much more similar, to the situation with Twilight Princess.  The game was set to release on a system with a low install base.  Although Wind Waker was released, many Zelda fans were turned off by the style.  So Nintendo ould either release a potentially huge system selling title to the 20 million Cube owners, or instead try to use it to push their new much more important console.

Even if the NX isn't launching in 2016 (which all evidence points to not being true) then they should still release it for both.  Announce it at E3 so that people who want it (and don't own a Wii U) will know they can wait for the NX version.  If Nintendo could choose between an NX sale and a Wii U sale, they would choose the Wii U sale every time, even if it hurts software sales for Zelda.

As for my non-existent Nintendo stock, read more carefully before trying to be snarky :)

Then why not announce it for NX right now? That way people know they have a choice.

As for the stock thing, it still stands.

Why not announce it now?  Because they haven't actually debuted  the system yet O_o... Zelda's not coming out before E3, so people would still have a choice if they announced it then.  It's not like people need a full 6-8 months to make a choice on which console they want.0000

As for your stock comment lol no.  It made no sense.  Let's see what I said...

"If Nintendo chooses not to release the game on both systems (assuming there is not some hardware reason that it couldn't be done) then I would suggest that anyone with Nintendo stock should sell it, because that would be a bafflingly moronic strategy."

Your reply was....

"So I'd say keep your stock, because if you only bought stock to see how much of a rise the stock would gain when they announce Zelda U on NX it was a bafflingly moronic move in the first place."

Which was dumb on several levels.  I didn't say I had stock in Nintendo, nor did I say I or anyone else bought stock to see if it would rise with a Zelda NX announcement.  So, while I agree that would be a baffling moronic way to invest in stocks, it's not something that anyone did or even suggested doing.

You tried to be snarky, and you failed.  S'ok.  It happens.  Just move on from this one.

That would only confirm what we know about Wii U compared to all the other Nintendo consoles which had their exclusive Zelda/Mario 3D adventure/Paper Mario/Metroid/Fire Emblem

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

"Mario 3D Adventure" or how to lose all your credibility in one little mention.

I don't care, i will never again buy a nintendo console/handheld after the WiiU/3ds.

Or very late, when the system is near the end, for a low price.

I guess i still have my credibility if it's coming from someone who already has 0 credibility considering your posts.

There has been nothing verifyable or believable to indicate that Zelda U will port to NX, at all.

But if it did, half the internet would be pissed, like me, and rightfully so.

The other half would be pulling the "ha ha, I told you so" crap.

So *shrug*.

Sigh... i'm sick of these threads.

You know what, i think Zelda U is coming to the 3DS aswell. Because why the F not? Common sense is nowhere to be found anyways.

You both must have missed the confirmed NX/Wii U/3DS leak.  Sorry that you're upset that Zelda won't be exclusive to the Wii U, but Zelda NX is 100%, definitely happening (as if it wasn't obvious already for many months).
