i liked Rogue... but you still kinda played the same assassins.. being an Assassin turned Templar hunting assassins was way more fun.. Would like to see more Templar games

A bit off subject, what the hell has happened to this pirate game that Ubisoft said they were going to do after the success of Black Flag? I was really looking forward to hearing more of that.

Yes, Assassin's Creed should be about Unicorns and Magicians.

Someone needs to tell them to stop dicking us around and just give us an Assassins Creed set in Feudal Japan.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

No, I think the theme and mechanic are too integral to the series. Otherwise we would be climbing and jumping and sneaking around but just not assassinating anyone? Or do you really just want the same thing but without the story being about the actual organization of Assassins? It would be cool if they branched out a bit like in Black Flag and Rogue, but for the most part continuing the story of the Assassins is pretty important. Otherwise it would be a spinoff series (which to be fair, could definitely be cool, but then it's not the same series).

It should be about nobility in Iran, throw in some time travel, think I'd like that.

No, remove the assassins and what do you get? Creed and that band is not that good.
OT: A game centered around a true templar would be sweet.

I thought it made a lot of sense in first AC. ACII was made so easy that I didn't care much for story anymore, so it could've been about anything really. Haven't played anything since ACII - hopefully this announced Egypt sort of reboot will pique my interest again.

The only reason the assassin mechanics got so tiring is because they were rehashed annually. The one great thing the series did was to introduce the sailing mechanic - I quite liked sailing, naval warfare, discovering islands and boarding ships.
The assassin mechanics can still be fresh if they tweak them just enough to be fresh. For example, if the game were to be set in Feudal Japan I think it would make more sense for the character to be a Samurai or a Ninja. So they could be a ninja assassin I guess. But we will never get an AC set in feudal Japan because there weren't any buildings tall enough to use as viewpoints in the game

Yes I thought that they would do an even bigger ocean. That would be nice!

Feudal Japan already has enough games, there are many interesting historic epochs that could be used instead: 19th century India, Ancient Egypt, Maya/Inca/Aztec vs conquistadors, Russian Revolution, Medieval Venice etc.

They should skip the time travel thing, back to modern time!
