That would be good for national databases. There was also Holographic Versatile Disc(HVD) that could store 1TB of data and it's still around but VMD went out.

This is the solution to CDs only lasting about 60years or so before data starts getting corrupted.
If they can make mass production cheap enough, this is the future medium we ll use.

I like that the medium is glass too.

Yeah but Sony and Toshiba each have their own proprietary version of the glass disk and the market might be fractured for another 13.8 billion years.
