At this point any of Nintendo's fanbase who wanted FF would already have a PS4 regardless of Cloud as it's not an unknown franchise which would make the advertising on that part pointless, the only point in advertising would essentially be if they have plans in future for Nintendo platforms to tap into the userbase directly itself.

I really want this rumor to be true. Nintendo NEEDS to destroy the general public's perception that they are inferior or a kids-only console. Being more powerful than PS4 and having these huge titles release on it will be a huge step in the right direction at reversing that opinion. XB1 is clearly doing worse than PS4 and everyone knows it is less powerful. If Nintendo released a console on par with XB1 (has to be at least this powerful) this late in the cycle, it will be DOA. Who in their right mind would jump to Nintendo when the PS4/XB1 already have been out for so long and have a long standing relationship with 3rd party developers when Nintendo's 3rd party relationships are clearly known to barely exist.

I don't think that's true. I mean, if the second gears of war halo game on an xb360 can push hardware, I don't see why a game like FFVIIR wouldn't. There are a lot of people who were FF fans but stopped after some disappointing entries. This could help them be reminded how much they liked FF or Cloud as a character.

Advertsing clearly works. You can't assume that GTA sales won't be affected by additional marketing and take it for granted that whoever wants to play GTA only has a pc/ps4/xb.

Makes no difference games will be almsot all (except for exclusives) made using PS4 as a base platafrom since the install base of PS4 will be over 50M when NX launches, so theres no point in making it too superior to PS4 as no 3rd party will ever use that power, all that would achieve is make the NX more expensive.

Evre game could run on handheld if it's properly scaled. I think FFXV has good chances to be on NX handheld because of most likely unified platform of NX (same game runing on NX handheld and home console) and because of huge increased popularity of handhelds and huge decline of popularity of home consoles in biggest market for FF.
