Who has bought this game and played it? Can you confirm that it's as bad as a lot of people are saying? The thing is I cancelled my preorder after hearing rumour the game felt incomplete and was missing vital modes that should definitely be in there from the start and not as updates later down the line. I was massively looking forward to it but there's no way I'm buying a game that isn't worth the money.

The gameplay is rock solid. The story mode is really short (3-4 fights per character). Apart from that right now, you have access to Versus (Local), Ranked Matches (Online), Casual Matches (Online) Training (Local) and Survival (Local), there's also Battle Lounges (like the lobbies from SFIV) but they currently are limited to only 2 players.

Challenges mode is in the menu but unavailable (says coming in March).

I think that's about it. Now, it's up to you to decide if those mode that are available justify the purchase.

Like I said before though with a game like this I want it released as quickly as possible and I can wait for the rest. It needs to be free though if they're charging $60 which it is. Also Capcom already stated everything will be avaliable via playing the game so I'm not to worried about that.

This is why I'm not too concerned. I'm with you, I wanted the game as quick as possible. As long as I don't have to buy several iterations to expereince the whole game (or a bunch of DLC), we're good!

Yep. It's been kind of weird to me all the complaints about the story in SF. I never knew so many people were following the story in SF. I couldn't even tell you what the story was in this game at all. My main complaint is that I don't seem to really be enjoying any character so far. I'm still trying to figure out who I'm going to use. It's between Rashid, Laura, and Karin. Been to damn busy lately to really sit down for a good 2-3 hour session.

I paid 70 euro and I am quite happy with it, gameplay is super smooth and a step up from 4. When they add the free content and if you have a good pool of friends to play it will be well worth it.

People seem to be actively looking for things to complain about these days, most of the people complaining havn't even played the game not to mind actually buy it...

If you master Laura you'll be a trouble only, dealing with her without much knowlegde is probably going to be the biggest pain new players will face online xD

Yep I heard a poster on another forum I visit say that he got dominated by Lauras online. Using her for a bit yesterday I could easily see why. Overall though she's most likely my last choice. It's probably going to be Rashid or Karin.

It's good to hear that the actual gameplay feels smoother than sf4 and is a step up. Is the training VS cpu or player?
I might consider buying it again.

Training mode is improved. They made it easier to simulate multiple battle scenarios. I'm enjoying the game but even as hardcore SF fan. I find the lack of Arcade Mode and vs CPU inexcusable.

It's down to 79 and well under reflecting the quality of the game. Such a pity, reviews just don't work anymore. Felt like this since Driveclub and Infamous.

They only have themselves to blame for rushing it out in the state it is in. It's going to cost them meta and more importantly sales. Seems the reviews are working just as they should.

Apparently it's total media/user bias and being compared to TO and other PS titles all over again.

I don't get how that even works. Especially with the supposed bigger userbase that should technically be biasing towards a more positive score, maybe reviews are working as intended?.

Honestly on PC it;s an equal mess and I wouldn't call that side biased considering it;s had shit like GFWL in the past with that franchise, especially for DR2.
