I'm not really sure if Fates will add extra maps later as well. I haven't looked up anything story-wise for this game. If they did though, that would be great xD

I think many people are concerned about that 2nd part. Many people have been saying they split the game into pieces, but the dev team comments often each version is a full game. So which one is true, I guess we'll find out on Friday O:

Or, if you're European, we'll wait until who-knows-when! XDDDDD. But I'll read the American reviews to find out.

Oh, that sucks. Sorry about that.... : X

We are hyped because its not one game chopped in 3, its actually 3 full length fire emblem games.

If you buy just one, you should still have a complete fire emblem experience. The other options are "what if" scenarios.
Of course, i don't really like that the choice is made in the act of buying. It would be awesome if the two main choices were in just one game.

Sounds like what Blizzard did to Starcraft 2 which put me off from buying it.

My problem with Fates is that Nintendo is essentially banking on selling the game to the ill informed. To this day I've yet to see an official comment by Nintendo acknowledging that the majority of fans (the casual ones) should buy Birthright, not Conquest. They always try to assume people will go outside of them for info, but there are going to be a good chunk of kids that get upset when their parents buy the hard game instead of the one they want.

I also have a huge issue with the fact that the plot revolves around a choice, but you make said choice before you even know the plot. You shouldn't Pokemon a game that is story driven, it feels like they're just trying to double the money without really doubling the effort. They SHOULD have made IS design both games around either choice and simply change the gameplay to fit whichever cart you're playing on, but that'd risk people not buying both versions and we can't have that.

Plus they're now selling Revelation as the definitive plot, so now you have to buy two and a HALF games if you want the true experience. It's ridiculous. And that's not counting the two or so months of DLC rollout I read about somewhere. It's honestly disappointing to see Nintendo go this route instead of actually explaining the games themselves in more direct terms than "make your choice" and implying the games are two sides of the same coin in every way, not just plot.

If I buy these games I'll buy them from a third party. They didn't earn my respect here and I can't in my right mind give them money for a poor marketing decision that has heavily affected the game itself. Not that I'll buy the game anyway, not a huge fan of the genre.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I gotta gree with you, that is my issue with the game. The multi version killed my desire to buy the game.horrible decision in my opinion.I will still play the game, but when it is either made a definity edition with all in one in a more affordable price or when I can be able to emulate it.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It was obvious from the get-go that this was gonna be shitty. I hate what's happening to Fire Emblem :/

I'm really excited for it. As someone who bought all of Fire Emblem Awakening's DLC, the DLC was fairly expensive for the amount of content you got. This DLC seems extremely reasonably priced for the amount of content.

Awakening's DLC is really expensive. So I'm not shock why Fates have this type of pricing and it is somewhat different story arc.

DLC wasn't free in awakening so that's not valid. I can see why the multi version is an issue, but considering that you can buy one version and then get the other one for half the price on the e-shop, it's not really a problem for me.

The only real issue I have fates is that the DLC is probably going to be as expensive as awakening's DLC, that's annoying.

Although 39,99 for two games seems ok to me, I´d rather pay a higher price to have the entire package in just one card.
It feels like they are being too greedy with this game, that they´re trying to extort money from fans by forcing the game being split in 03 games....

I'm not buying it now because I didn't like Awakening at all, I found it boring and bad overall.

I'll maybe buy the Conquest version later (or used if possible), it's supposed to be a Fire Emblem-like game...
